We asked ourselves: What garment could we make to help women who suffer from vulvar varicose veins, during pregnancy or not, who suffer from prolapse and who would help those who have a hernia or could develop it? We looked around and found a lot of devices made of elastic bands wrapped all around and said no, that's not that! We need a garment that is just that, a garment, a briefs, a tights that can be worn every day in the same way that women already wear their normal underwear. So we got down to work and created it. Underworks Vulvar Varicose Support Briefs are made to be highly effective in relieving pain and reducing symptoms associated with vaginal swelling. Also known as vulvar varicose veins, they are varicose veins present on the outer surface of the female genitalia (vulva). Occurs most often during pregnancy. As a result, blood stagnates in the veins of the lower extremities and in the vulvar region causing vulvar varicose veins or lymphedema. This brief features two overlapping bands that run through the pubic area, providing compression and relief from vulvar swelling and overlapping exactly where a pelvic support base is created at the bottom. This helps relieve prolapse such as cystocele (when the bladder protrudes into the vagina creating a bulge), the rectocele (when the rectum protrudes into the back wall of the vagina) and uterine prolapse (when the uterus descends into the vagina). The garment is secured at the waist with a drawstring belt that allows great flexibility in positioning and adjusting the desired fit. Inguinal hernia occurs in the abdomen, near the groin area. They develop when fat or intestinal tissues push through a weakness of the abdominal wall. This brief is effective in creating a solid artificial support wall in the lower abdomen that relieves pain caused by existing hernias, such as inguinal hernia and femoral hernia, and helps prevent future hernias. Review: Good full support! - This prolapse brief gives your bladder more support than the pull on straps I've had in the past. Review: Great for bladder prolapse - Amazing how great they are for bladder prolapse. I have been wearing these for a couple years now to help with bladder prolapse and these briefs help tremendously. I can do almost anything I normally to with absolutely no problem. I am older, late 70’s so I am not a candidate for surgery but don’t need it wearing these. I have both made of cotton and the nylon and like them both. I am 5’5” inches and weigh 155 lbs. Hip measures 41 inches iand get large which fits great and are comfortable. Also have a couple pairs of medium but like wearing the large best. My only complaint is the cost but worth it. Hopefully they might reduce the cost in the future. Highly recommend !!

Too short at the back
These sorts of garments are a "hit" or miss, unfortunately the back of the garment was too short and did not go up to the waist

It does actually work - it lifts!
I have a prolapsed uterus which actually protrudes quite a bit so my comments are based on what has helped with this, and these ‘Vulvar Varicosity Briefs’ really have helped. Basically, they are a firm stretchy fabric with a sewn-in, X-shaped reinforcement stretching between the legs with a very slightly thickened central section which stays fairly flat so that it lifts and levels the protrusion – and it really works! I’m 5’2” tall, 42” round the widest part of my hips and gambled on a medium which actually is a good fit on me. They have an adjustable drawstring at the waist which I didn’t even notice when I first wore them and think I’ll probably take out as not needed. When I put them on I pull them up above the curve of my hips (making them very slightly higher at the back/lower at the front). They stay there and are firm but perfectly comfortable, and I wear them over normal knickers so they don’t need to be washed every time. A side effect is that they give a slight degree of support to my stomach which has become increasingly saggy since turning 65. (I also tried a belt type support with a Y-shaped central section going between the legs. It was useless as the central section just molded itself around my protruding uterus and didn’t lift it at all. Also the actual belt was very bulky – although that might not have mattered if it had actually worked.)
