Pretty good jacket
I'm just a household cook, but I wanted a chef's jacket to keep splatters off my clothes. This jacket pretty much fills the bill. I'm a men's small shirt, and the small size jacket was the right size for me. It fits easily over an ordinary shirt, and I also wear it over a shirt and sweater. It fits over those as well, but a big more snuggly. The 3/4 length sleeves works fine for me. The jacket washes well and did not shrink. What's not great? The covered buttons are a pain. They might look better, but I don't care about looks. It's a mild pain to have to squeeze the button through the button hole. I thought this would get easier over time, but that hasn't been the case.I would be happier if there were a pocket or two on the jacket (other than the thermometer pocket, which I don't find useful). Not a big deal, however.

My favorite chef's coat
Sure a white coat can be bleached, but I'm working in food, not dye. Why shirk style and color when you can have some fun with it? Now granted, if you are working over lots of flame, this may not be your top choice because it's not a really heavy cotton--the point of that being if you catch fire, you can avoid burns. So for me, being in a hot kitchen, without always being over flame (I work with huge batches in huge kettles in a commercial kitchen) I want a lighter coat to keep me cool, but because I also have client meetings, I like one that has some spunk to it.If you wear a medium I would suggest a small. Like most chef coats, this one runs large. The color is fantastic and fun and I love the 3/4 sleeves.

Better than an apron!
I'm not a chef. I'm just a home cook that got tired of ruining prefectly good shirts with oily stains and splashes. I used to wear a bib front apron but I still would get little splash stains where my apron didn't cover. This jacket gives me complete coverage. I'm a plus-sized woman so I bought the 3X to make sure it would be big enough to button (I usually wear 3X shirts and this fits a little loose). I also bought the 3/4 sleeves (which fit me right at my wrists) because I'm only 5ft 3in tall and regular length sleeves would have been way too long.I liked this so much that the day after it arrived, I bought another one (this time in merlot). Highly recommended.UPDATE:Yesterday my husband remarked how big this jacket was on me. Well, I have been on a diet but I didn't think I'd lost that much weight so I took a closer look in the mirror. After further inspection, I'm sure I could have easily fit into the 2X (and maybe even the 1X). I still love the jacket and I don't think it looks that big on me but if fit matters to you and you usually wear a 3X in women's tops then you might want to order the 2X instead. And if Amazon offers free returns, then you can't go wrong either way.

Used this jacket for the first time and it was ...
Used this jacket for the first time and it was a life saver! Short sleeve coat are not practical for my tight kitchen, the 3/4 sleeve looks neat and professional as well as enough protection if you brush up against a hot oven. We have had some hot days this week and its been really difficult coping with the heat and weight of of my coat. Today was the first day this week I did not feel faint despite the 90 degree day and my scorching kitchen. Definitely buying another one for the summer.

I've had it about 3 weeks and I use it for 3-4 days a week as a cook and I love it so far
Perfectly fits me. I'm a taller and bigger guy and I bought the same size as I do in shirts. I don't wash or dry with any heat as it would shrink it a tad bit if I did. So, I've had it about 3 weeks and I use it for 3-4 days a week as a cook and I love it so far. Everyone compliments me on how professional it looks and I also love the 2 pockets on the sleeve for the thermometer and marker. Very useful. I will buy more soon. :)

Quality product
Got this as a gift for my husband, and so far, I'm impressed! Its wearing like a high-quality product, and has what appear to be durable seams. The fabric-covered buttons are also a classy touch, although they seem a little impractical, since they're right there on the front just waiting to be splattered by food. Color isn't too vividly bright, but there isn't a "burnt" tone too it either.I will say that this jacket runs a little small compared to other chef jackets. My husband typically wears an XL shirt size, and while he can definitely get into this large size, it'll be a little snug if it ever shrinks in the wash (or he doesn't eat his own delicious creations moderately).

Love this jacket!!!
I’m a self taught cook that caters a lot of events at my church. I always wear an apron, but no matter how careful I am, I end up with a stain somewhere on my clothes. I still may get a stain or two while I’m cooking but now, it will be on my “cook’s jacket” and not my blouse 😉. I am very pleased with the fit and the lightweight fabric. I will be buying another one in one of the other color options!

Great for amateure and professional use.
I am by no means a professional chef, but I LOVE this product.Needed something to stand out while catering an event recently and this did the trick whilst not trying to pass myself off as a professional chef. Also works on a more regular basis on cooking days at home in my regular kitchen. Very durable.I also recommend the 3/4 length perfect for me and I usually wear big and tall cloths.
