The machine worked normally at first , but then started to alarm even with correct settings and water level.I contacted the manufacturer. They suggested a fix (rebooting!) which didn't solve the problem, and so they sent me a new replacement device.The new unit is working fine so far.As you may see from the photo, things are sprouting nicely after a few weeks. Also I made a little diagram in the form of a spreadsheet (just visible behind the device) with details of what's in each pod.

As you can see from the photos: the water that contains blue fertiliser crystals has seeped out of the tank. It's then corroded the power cable.I only noticed this because the tank was making a weird whiny, whistling noise. I had switched off the tank and it still made the noise. Then I switched it off at the wall and it continued. So I knew it was to do with the power cord. I looked underneath and saw very slow seeping underneath at the power cable as it and the window sill had a small pool of water.When I unplugged the power connector I saw that it was all corroded. Tried cleaning out the adapter etc and plugging it back in; but it's still whining, but even worse.Had to contact Amazon to get the seller details. When I contacted them they said don't move the tank when it's got water in it (hard when you need to move it to change the water fortnightly) and don't over fill (I put 3L in as per instructions).Seller was great: asked for photos and a video to update the design which they said they'll be doing so there is waterproofing around the power connectors. Got a replacement tank that's so far doing OK and trying to grow the plants that didn't survive the wait for a new one.

A risky Christmas present for my autistic daughter 24 aa I had no clue what to get her. This has been great. The seeds germinate really quickly on most things. We've grown a giant lettuce, mint, tobacco, cabbage, sprouts, cotton, tomatoes, cabbage, chillies and believe it or not, we currently have a pea shoot. Definitely recommend. It's both fun and fascinating!!!!

Unfortunately this tank sprung a leak from the power inlet point. I have read other reviews of this happening but hoped mine would be fine. Unfortunately the leak is consistent enough to have water running out over the counter top.That aside I really liked the design and was very happy with the delivery and really excited to see how it would work.

Good buy

I purchased this as a Christmas present for my partner. And unfortunately we didn't decide to first try it until over a month after Christmas. That meant I'm now too late about getting a refund on this. My advice is don't purchase it.Less than a week after we set it up the lights started flickering and it started turning itself on and off. When I checked it I found a small leak around the same spot where it's plugged it.This thing is a death trap. Under no circumstances should anyone buy it

I ordered this as a replacement for the previous one I bought. Using this to grow chillies from seed. It worked from when it was first plugged in absolutely fine. Was very careful never to move it from where it was placed. Somehow water got into the electrics even though it was filles exactly as the manufacturer specified and now it doesn't work at all. Refund/replacement window now closed so I'm stuck with it. Not pleased at all with it.

Well, the seeds sprouted, but that was about it. A centimetre or two, then they they stopped growing, then they died. Maybe I didn't follow the instructions properly.
