Crane Accessories, Air Purifier Filter, Shark and Penguin Air Purifier

Fantastic purifier! Easy to use, quiet and seems to work really well. I'll update in a week or two to continue my update on what I think of this little guy but so far so good. Even on high it's not terribly loud! My daughter absolutely loves him too, she's named him CodyUpdate 4/18: So we've been using this purifier and it really works well! I decided to put it in my craft room today! It doesn't get much traffic and at one point the dog had peed on the floor so there was a slight smell. I've had this purifier in there for only 2 hours and there is NO smell! I've noticed a huge improvement in the air quality of the craft room!! It's fantastic and A+

Last month I went to my doctor because my allergies were acting up. Nothing major: itchy skin sometimes, nose and chest congestion. The first thing she said to me was "You need to get rid of that cat. I told her: "The cat stays. I might replace you."Yeah, I was in a mood that day. I'm willing to undergo any treatment to keep my little companion, and the first place the doc goes is "Get rid of her'? Not happening. Ever.I came home and started doing research on air purifiers. I learned about rate of air exchanges per hour (6 is the best), I decided to stay away from HEPA-Type filters because they are not true HEPA and I want something that gets the job done. I read reviews on the air purifiers on Amazon. I decided to buy this one for my bedroom because it's cute. I like penguins. The unit shuts off if the door's open or if it tips over. It's also bigger than I expected, over a foot tall. It was ready to use right out of the box. All I had to do was pull it out, sit it on my table, plug it in and turn it on. I felt a big difference the first night I used it. My nose and head cleared up. I usually run it on medium. The white noise at that level is decent. When I turn it up high that's really loud, but I don't mind. Sometimes the guy in the apartment next to me gets loud and I need something to drown him out.At night I turn the penguin away from me so it faces the wall. That's not a problem. It's a good night light.The day before I received the air purifier I found moldy padding in the vents of my A/C heating unit, so I know my cat is not the entire source of my allergies. And I have no intention of getting rid of her. This is her forever home. Management is going to have to clean those vents. This week I'm going to buy the Holmes True HEPA Allergen Remover for Large Rooms, HAP756-U for the living room and the rest of the apartment.So far, so good. I'll post an update in another month, good, bad or indifferent.

We have this and we love it. The filter/UW light keep the air in my kid's room feeling and smelling fresh and light and judging from the muck that washes out of the filter each time we clean it and the lack of dust in the room I'd say that it does a great job of cleaning the dander/dust/pollen out of the air. (We keep a very clean home, lots of houseplants, and are non-smokers of course, but we do have 2 cats and tons of trees around the house, so there's always dander and a LOT of pollen in the air in the spring.) My kids love the filter because it's a penguin - they've named it 'Pingu' and always want me to turn it on at night. It also serves as their nightlight. Truth be told- one of the reasons I originally bought it because it had a fan and we needed to drown out some crazy upstairs neighbors so our kids could get some sleep. We've since moved into our own house and that situation no longer applies. But the gentle white noise coming from the fan still helps hide other household noises (hello: Santa) and they sleep better overall with it on. We've had ours for about 3 years and it still works great. Laugh at the ad if you want, but I'm still very happy with Mr. Pingu.

Just received this today so I will add an update the longer it's in my daughters room regarding air quality and durability. This is only on our initial once-over for this product. We purchased this for our 5 yr old daughter's room because she has cough-variant asthma.We received it very quickly. It was easy to put together and is visually very cute and appealing. She loved the penguin. It seems very well made and durable. On turning it on for the first time, we put it on low. It definitely moved some air and wasn't very loud on low. Medium wasn't very loud either. But high is very loud. White noise is usually helpful for younger children, but this might a bit over doing it. Regardless of the noise though, it does move a lot air on all three settings. As long as this air purifier helps with our daughter's nighttime asthma and coughing fits, I really could care less how loud it is.

Definitely not Whisper Quiet, but I wasn't expecting any miracles. I just wanted something to purify the air in my fairly small room (approximately 20'x20') and thought this Penguin Purifier would do the trick. Unfortunately, it seems like a room this size is still too big for the poor penguin. :(

Bought the crane (shark) air purifier and it is outstanding. I have had it alittle over two months now and it works so good I replaced the filter. The filter does as it says cleans and freshens the air. Its fantastic. The filter can be replaced in seconds and your all set up and running for another two or three months. I suggest getting the auto ship every three months and you will find out that you never have to worry when it comes you change it out its cheaper and convenient.

So it's VERY cute and was a great filter which is what I loved about it. It's pretty loud as far as air filters go but the low setting is effective for my space and not that loud, so I could live with it because, again, adorable. However yesterday I moved it to vacuum and it shut off and wont turn back on. I've tried everything. I purchased this back in Febuary 24 and it's now July of the same year so about 6 months of use out of the thing.I guess now I have a penguin statue. As just a statue I'd probably give it a 4/5 stars as well. It's very adorable but the belly knob, while useful when it's an air purifier, detracts from it some as a statue
