No, they require the molding to hold on to wall. We have had issues with a small molding and they tend to slip off of wall.

Exercise bands are a great tool to use in tandem with these, but personally I wouldn't use yoga hammock straps because of room in a doorway. There is a weight limit so it may support the weight but not a lot of crazy movement.
