How can you go wrong with a cheesy cult movie like this.... saw when I was a kid and took me back, great movie .... dont miss out

Easily Toma's best film and one of the best film theme songs of all time.

I watched most of the Kaufman directed Troma movies streaming on Amazon Prime. But one movie was not available, SGT Kabukiman NYPD. So I ordered the movie and then finally watched it two nights ago. Wow, what a let down. Not as funny as most of Kaufman's movies, nor as violent, or horrific or gross... It was just ok. I would have liked to see a followup, since that was just an origin story.4 stars

I had been informed that this was a brilliant expose on the state of modern policing in New York City. This was far from that, instead a buffoonish, unrealistic take on a Kabuki Police officer hybrid who fights crime in disturbingly violent ways. Very disappointed, it's shockingly unrealistic and rather gruesome. Definitely not recommended for the Blue Lives Matter Crowd or those with a genuine interest in policing and how municipal police departments function on a daily basis. Far better than this is Errol Morris's "The Thin Blue Line", which I heartily recommend. Semper Fi!
