purchased 5 of these kits for my 6 year old's "Dissection Party". (yes, you read that right, lol)We only dissected the frogs at the party and it was a huge hit! The Carolina solution was much better than formaldehyde and I was able to dispose of the specimens in our regular trash.I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the frogs, they were perfect and big enough for the kids to see the anatomy clearly. The guide that came with the kit was great and the kids could pick things out easily. Like other reviews mentioned the scissors provided were too blunt to pierce the skin so in anticipation of that I just bought some cheap cuticle scissors and they worked perfect. I also grabbed T pins from the dollar store to help hold open the frogs.

I have a self led home schooler who likes to tell me the day of when he needs supplies. Usually not a problem, but when he told me Sunday night he needed a frog for Tuesday....oh boy! I was dismayed, but not surprised, to see that it could up to a month for delivery so I had him do an online dissection and told him we'd revisit the lesson when the specimen came. It actually arrived by the end of the week and he happily spent the whole weekend dissecting!

I got this kit for school and it was a lot of fun! The worm and frog was the best, and there are step by step instructions on how to observe the outside and inside of the animals.The only thing is that there is only one tray and you are supposed to discard it after you are done, do we just dissected in two days. Plus it does not come with pins which you need, especially for the worm, and gloves which you need or else it gets very messy. Also, the scissors it came with are very dull, I had to use scissors meant to cut hair.But over all, I am very glad I got this!

This is a good kit specimen wise, but I didn't realize that it doesn't come with a scalpel or dissecting pins. The styrofoam dissecting tray was cracked when I received it. Not a huge deal, but could be a little sturdier. I think this kit is worth the price, just make sure you know that you may need to get dissecting pins and a scalpel if that's what you prefer instead of the dissecting scissors.

This was perfect for our nature living scientist son. He got a little woozy after about 10 min on a couple of the dissections, because the smell is pungent, though not strong like it is in a jr high classroom. He loved learning hands on and the handbooks make it easy to identify each part. We loved learning thank you for such an easy way to do so!

This was a great product, I homeschool and this was a perfect way to do a dissection lesson. It was very well packaged and arrived within a couple of days of ordering it. It has little booklets inside for both student and teacher to look over, and came with everything needed to do the dissections.

No problems with it at all. Easy set up easy clean up. The guide can be used as a walk through of what to do if you have no idea what you're doing or where to start. You will need something to help hold the skin open because the kit doesn't come with pins. We just cut the skin off because the pins were sold in large quantities.

Great value for our home education science lessons. Come with everything you need, plus Carolina Science let's you log onto their website, set up an account and you get access to their electronic dissection lessons/activities. More than what I expected, which is great.
