This book tells you in great detail how to train on the wooden dummy
This book tells you in great detail how to train on the wooden dummy. Just buy the book, pay close attention to every single word, and train each level in strict accordance to the author's directions and you'll be just fine. It's quality of print and construction is worth more than the price alone. The information contained within is worth way more than the cover price, though. I will warn you, you have to pay close attention to everything this guy says. He's not big on fluff. Miss a word or any detail and it's your loss. He just tosses gem after gem into all of his works. Don't even hesitate on buying this one. That being said, I wouldn't buy the book if your English isn't good, because the information between the covers is your reason to buy this one.

The best Wing Chun book that I have read.
This is hands down the best Wing Chun book that I have read. Even the brief history of Wing Chun and the Wooden Dummy is great to know. The pictures are in color and taken from a perfect angle where you can easily see what each move is. If you are learning the Wooden Dummy form this book is a must.

This book will get you there
I like most things about this book; the physics and physiological part connected to Wing Chun and the use of the wooden dummy, the construction guide, the pictures and the describing text, the parallel applied use (with a human opponent) descriptions of all techniques. It is definitely good enough for you to learn using the wooden dummy from scratch, or to improve your present skills if already accustomed to it.There are two things though I would like to see improved in this book:1. The same standardized order of the pictures. In the formal wooden dummy sequences the order is of one kind, and in the applied sequences it's often another kind. This is unnecessarily confusing (even if the odd order is noted), although a minor problem after a couple of hours reading.2. There should be pictures from above the dummy, so that certain details would be revealed that are impossible to note with help of the one angle used. This is especially important for beginners who might not be aware of certain grips, forearm turns, hand positioning and other details that are hidden by body parts of either the instructor or the dummy. In such cases supplement pictures would clarify things.Still, even considering these two issues, this book is a really good help in learning how to use the wooden dummy in your training to improve your Wing Chun skills.

Great book!
Great book! I have purchased and read a few Wing Chun books and this by far has been one of the best ones; especially, if you are interested in learning the wooden dummy forms/drills. It has a logical step-by-step process that shows you not only the application of the form on the dummy but how it applies towards an opponent using good color photographs. I would recommend this book to anyone studying Wing Chun or looking to learn more about the system. My only complaint is that sometimes the body of information does not necessarily follow the pics referenced on that page.

The best book about Muk Yan Jong
One of the best books about Wing Chun I've ever read. The Muk Yan Jong Fa form is described perfectly - every movement is easy to follow and its meaning is clearly explained. The pictures are of high quality. I like this book very much.

Very helpful
Even though I have not yet started the wooden dummy form in my class this book answered all of my questions. I needed to understand how to apply myself when using the dummy. Sifu Shaun explains the application of each technique very well. So for now I can practice the basic techniques on my dummy without corrupting any future teachings by my Sifu.

Very useful
I purchased this book to accompany the Wing Chun metal dummy, and it is perfect.
