It creates a vaccum effect when you try to squeeze out the product and it causes the product to leave from the cover.

Really good quality product!
I bought it for tomato ketchup, pressure tested it with water filled up to brim and not a drop leaked out. So no question of more viscous ketchup leaking. I will give it 5 stars any day. Just be a bit caeabout the cap as I think that is the only delicate part of it.

Good for water base sauces, however for oil base look for other alternative.

You can use these for ketchup but not for mayo. Too soft.
