The adventure is over but life goes on for an elf mage just beginning to learn what living is all about. Elf mage Frieren and her courageous fellow adventurers have defeated the Demon King and brought peace to the land. But Frieren will long outlive the rest of her former party. How will she come to understand what life means to the people around her? An old enemy returns as Frieren continues her journey north. Decades ago, Frieren and her party defeated a servant of the Demon King called Aura the Guillotine, one of the powerful demons known as the Seven Sages of Destruction. Now Aura is back with a score to settle. But what price did Frieren pay for victory in the past, and how will the choices she made then affect the present? Review: I love Frieren - Volume 3 here we go! Arrived in perfect condition Review: Wonderful - I loved the Anime (and I'm not an Anime fan -- but they are getting better). Bought this to support the creators as directly as possible. It is virtually identical, though the English translation is better in the Sub for the Anime, at least on Netflix. "My head is not for patting," (Anime Sub) is much better than "Don't pat my head," (Manga Translation). Otherwise this is nearly identical to the Anime (improvements are all on the Anime side).

Old enemies and new, and a snowy journey
Old enemies and new clash as Frieren, Fern, and Stark continue north towards the home of the Demon King. Aura the Guillotine, one of the Seven Sages of Destruction under the Demon King, as returned to seek revenge on Frieren for her and her former party's machinations against her. Will the actions of her past come back to haunt Frieren in the future? Will the trio be able to soldier on, or does their quest end premature in the cold grasp of the North? This was a equally action-packed and introspective dive into Frieren's past and motivators, and a good finish to the current conflict the trio is facing. We get more glimpses of Frieren's upbringing and her time with her original part, and also get some levity with side missions and the (potential?) introduction of a new character. This continues to be a slower-paced, reflective series that still manages to capture the reader's attention with the occasional thrust into danger, and I can't wait to see what will challenge Frieren and her apprentices next!
