A Gardener's Handbook of Plant Names: Their Meanings and Origins

Super helpful book. It was recommended to me by another horticulturist. It gives you a lot more information than just the names of the plants. It explains origins of the names pretty well and there is a common name glossary in the back to help navigate.

Very helpful with people who wish to know what is the meaning behind botanical names! The information will in turn assist in understanding more about the plant and remembering its name! List also sufficient in covering a lot of names!

I use this book while working in a local Herbarium. So interesting to see what the plant names mean, and where those names come from.

Good reference.

Basically a reference book I am not too likely to pull out except in rare circumstances where I already know the name.

Great book, does exactly what it's supposed to, you can look up any plant name word and find out what it means.

A really good little book - well worth it.

Written a while ago so some plant names have changed but still a beautiful book to have.
