Minecraft Combat Handbook Review: Easy read for young kids. - I bought this for my nephew who is 9, who has really gotten into Minecraft over the last few years. He doesn't really like to read, but this book he really enjoys. He takes it on trips so that he can continue learning his skills for combat. Sometimes it just takes the right book to get them to start reading. Very happy with this purchase. Review: Best (and cheapest) Minecraft Gift for kids - This book plus all the other editions are an excellent gift for children that love Minecraft. I bought this for my 7 year old son as a Christmas gift this year along with the construction handbook (blue cover with shovel), and the essentials handbook (green cover with pick axe) the rest I will buy for his birthday. My son absolutely loves Minecraft but has been playing it for a good year now so what used to be his number one choice is now worn out a little. He knows a lot about the game but only through learning it by himself and what I taught him. Occasionally, I have used the internet to figure something out for him, like when we forget how to make something or what materials we need. I got this for him because he mentioned it to me a long time ago about another child in his school having this book. I was very surprised to hear that my son would enjoy a book because he always asks for toys or games instead. He has gotten many gifts related to minecraft such as plushies, the minecraft figure set with blocks, papercraft, and the Lego set. With that being said out of all of them which are rather expensive this is the most productive, cool, and cheap minecraft related gift I have ever bought for him. You should have seen his face he was not expecting these books at all since it was not on his Santas wish list (he must have forgotten). He likes to rush and open all of his gifts one at a time and then when they are all opened he sits and plays with the one he likes the most. He immediately sat down in a quiet corner to read! Then he runs to me and let's me know several things that I actually didn't know about either! I grabbed one of the books myself to read because I was rather curious now and I have to say the writing is fun! It has that lovely Minecraft humor in it, it has lot's of details about how to start off, there are obvious things like first you start off with wood but also not so obvious info such as a boss that we never knew about, and then there are these impressive pictures of really inspirational buildings that made me want to hop online and play too. * It's now 3 days after Christmas and he still takes this book (plus the other two) in the car to wherever we go. He changes books often and when we get home he tries new things out in the game. I also noticed he tries a little harder to build something better, and doesn't make a new game every ten minutes, instead he sits and builds for quiet a while on the same saved file hah! Last night he was up reading and didn't want to go to bed until he finished the page, I thought it was such a great change. My ONLY complaint would be the hardcover is really scuffed and scratched, the seller should store them so that the books have a pad or cardboard in between books to avoid these long marks. This is just a suggestion it's not a big deal but it looks used on the outside, the pages inside are perfectly fine.

The book is very helpful while playing the game
I did not realized how many books were written for a game. My grandkids corrected me on that topic.

Good sturdy hardcover book.
Son loves this book from school library decided to keep it longer with a purchase off Amazon. I noticed the price did changed after buying it so the price we bought it at was affordable. Hardcover, and sturdy pages. Over all pleased with this purchase.

Great for readers or collectors.
You can obviously find all these tips on the internet faster and for free, but this is a nice-to-have for anyone who loves the game and reading in general.

Obsessed!
My son is obsessed with this book! He reads it all the time and often shares what he’s learned about Minecraft. I have only looked through it, but it’s presented in such a cute way - I love the layout and design. It’s hard covered and sturdy, a really handy size, which are all very good things, considering how much it gets read. If you have kids that enjoy the game, this is a great way to encourage fun reading experiences and allow them to explore their interest with less screen time.

Everything you need to know about mobs
These are available now in a series, however for parents like me that have their kids earn one thing at a time, this is a reasonable way to purchase the books individually. It teaches a lot of things that I would not have known about minecraft, for example what light level are required to keep mobs from spawning. This is not an independent read for little kids. I read this to my son, and it is honestly a pretty dry read if you aren't into minecraft at all. Be warned. However it is great bonding.

Great Little Book
Great book for smaller children as there are many illustrations and for older kids as it's also a basic strategy guide. The pages are thicker and tear resistant, it has a durable hardcover, and the entire book is filled with graphics. Highly recommended for younger children, but it's probably more of a collectors item for older kids. FYI, $7.99 retail is printed on the back cover, I wouldn't pay more than that.
