It doesn't crimp the automotive terminals that I use so it's kinda useless to me. I was hoping it would. I sure this tool crimps the correct terminal with little to no effort. Review: terrible crimp die - Terrible dies on this thing, it can barely make a decent crimp. With great care and Molex KK 2.54 or KF2510 it can just about manage to get a half decent crimp, compared to an old molex crimper the results are bad. Same with KK 3.96mm, with care you can get a barely acceptable crimp. See the pictures for test results. Utterly worthless for crimping Mini-Fit Jr. ( or Val-U-Lok ) 4.2mm. Its ONLY saving grace is the hand piece is basically a clone of the older molex crimpers ( 11-01-0185 or 11-01-0197 style ) so I can use for spares or swap the die with a decent one.

NOT for JR/Futaba Servo Connectors
Did not work for JR and Futaba Servo/Rx Battery Connectors as stated in listing. Jaws are too wide and crushed the squared off portion where the plastic locking tabs need to sit in to hold the pin in the body. Also, the jaws were rough/defective or incorrect profile as they would crush the connectors so deep that I needed to use a micro jeweler's screwdriver to pop them out after crimping. Would bend the wire or pin removing from tool, sometimes to the point of breaking them off. Last issue was that they were kind of tight and needed to be opened by hand after completing the crimp. They would not spring open after the ratchet releases. I returned and purchased: Knoweasy Pin Crimper for XH2.0mm XH2.54mm XH3.96mm Dupont D-Sub Terminals JST Pin Crimper, AWG 28-20 These function perfectly for JR & Futaba.

lock is hard to release once closed
Tool almost functioned as expected, until i tried to release the lock. I had a hard time getting my fingers in-between the handles to release the lock. I have used many of these type of crimpers before and they always release once crimping is completed.

Don’t buy for molex
Bought this because it claims it can do molex crimps. Could not be further from the truth. I have a two stage crimp for my pinball connectors and it breaks the connector everytime

Poor quality dies ruin an otherwise-good tool
Return spring pressure is fine, ratchet works well, crimping pressure seems okay. The problem is the dies - they are imprecise and form a poor crimp. I am (trying to) use these with male Dupont-style connector pins and every one so far has required a little extra finessing before I can actually insert the pin into the plastic connector. In particular, the tabs meant to hold the insulation in place come out uneven or not pressed in far enough. If you are using this tool for a one-off project or very infrequent use, it may be adequate to your needs. I am planning to return this and find a different model to use long-term.
