super heavy
heavy pillow, ran it through the dryer for about 10 mins when i got it, it has an odor when new,. found a Pillow case to fit it King size, I was thinking of getting extra fill because of some reviews says its flat when it arrives, this is true, but if you flatten it then lay on your side and give it a pillow kick with your hand ( dont winch, you know what I am talking about, it bunches up nicely, it seems fairly rigid as well, it shouldnt sink through the night, I will come back in a about a month and let you know,

MAKE AN OPTION FOR MORE HULLS PLEASE
LOVE these pillows. 😍Hard to find these in kings. 👑What's unfortunate about this pillow is the fact that IT'S VERY UNDERFILLED!! 👎🏻 it's only about half filled with hulls. If I lay the pillow down, it's basically flat.I have to gather all the hulls to one side, and then fold the pillow case over to keep the hulls on the one side, to get any support. 😩So basically this isn't even king size! I can't use the whole length of my pillow. 😡BUT. While looking for somewhere to get replacement hulls to add to my pillow, I did realize the price of their hulls per OZ is pretty decent compared to many other places that sell these pillows. 🧐So I guess even if their pillows are "flat" they are still less per OZ than most other pillows. 😯ADD:still using and loving the pillow. Since putting the 2 pillows into one, it's been *PERFECT*. 🛏️ 👍🏻. 😁

Takes some getting used to
I have been searching for a good pillow for ages. I’m a side sleeper. Mid 50s. About 20 years ago I had a sobakowa pillow that I bought off an infomercial. Don’t know what happened to it. When I came across this I snapped it up.Most recently I’ve been sleeping with a memory foam pillow which really has no memory (kind of like me). It would feel great when I fell asleep but I would wake up with no neck support feeling awful. This pillow remedies that. It’s hard to explain. It’s soft, but it’s hard. Once you get the right shape it stays that way. Sort of like shaping sand at the beach. There are some downsides. First, it smells odd. I did by some lavender flowers and put them in with the buckwheat. Problem solved.Second, it seems underfilled. I saw that there is refill to buy when it inevitably compresses. I suppose I’ll do that soon. I wind up squishing all to one area but because the case has so much space they husks shift around. I don’t know why I am hesitant on just buying more.Lastly, it’s loud. When I move it around in the night it scares the cats. I know, who cares. But my husband also hems and haws. I’m sure once there’s more buckwheat in there this won’t be a problem.Love this style of pillow. Glad I found it again.

OH YA BABE!
Well once again I am satisfied with a purchase from Amazon! As big as they are, they come together with fluidity, well most of the time!On to the review...I am currently 37 and pushing 38 yrs old. I am a stocky guy, not necessarily overweight, just German built, broad shoulders, etc. Anyway, for years I have suffered from neck & shoulder pain. Mostly derived from the way I sleep, combined with the fact that I abuse my body with some intensive manual labor at times.I have for many moons looked for a solution to my pain. Neurologist, ENT's, Chiropractors, Pills, Physical (Sports) Therapist, the list goes on! After $1000.00's dollars later, I still suffer from the some chronic pain to date!By now you're wondering, "What does this have to do with a pillow?" "I REALLY don't need this guy's life story!"Well, this is where the pillow comes in! This pillow has CHANGED my life! And, I am not a person who can be easily swayed based upon product hype! This pillow changed my attitude on that though!First, my pillow arrived promptly and well packed. Thanks Amazon Prime free 2 day ship!Secondly, like a few others have noted, there is a "plastic like" smell when you unpack the pillow. I think it derives from two places. One the packaging. And two, it appears that the pillow is plastic lined? I think this is for the dust the "hulls" create? However this lining does not make the pillow hot to sleep on in any manner that I can find. And the smell does dissipate over time.Thirdly, this pillow is HEAVY! Well compared to other pillows of similar size. Probably the heaviest pillow I've ever owned including the tempurpedic one that I have.Lastly, WOW, did I say WOW? I now sleep like the dead! Well most nights anyway. That is unless either my 4 yr old, or 2 yr old, or both, have snuck into bed with me and the wife and are kicking me in the side! But the point is..., I can mold this pillow into just about any position I want and it stays put! A little noisy when I lay my head down to get comfortable but then AHHHHHHHH and off to dreamland I go! As a matter of fact, my wife "borrowed" (down right stole) my pillow on the fourth night I had it! Now she (well now really I have one) has one too! Can't find a fault one in the pillow, at least to date! All in all I still have an occasional bout with my neck and shoulder pain. I don't know that I will ever get rid of it? One could hope though! But until that day comes, I will gladly except the relief that this pillow has brought into my life over the past 3 weeks! AND someday, just someday, maybe one day, I'll be pain free! Thanks Buckwheat!

Fabulous deal <3
Having slept on buckwheat hull pillows for most of my adult life, I'm very satisfied with my newest addition. The 1st Sobakawa pillows I bought were ordered from a TV commercial l o n g ago. They were 'standard' sized, I loved em immediately whereas my husband took some time to warm up to 'em. Eventually, we decided to upgrade to a 'queen' size pair passing the standard ones to our daughters. He went to visit his sister, had to take his pillow with him, and came home without it, lol. His sister fell in love with it. After our divorce (he took his w/him :~) ) I treated myself to a king size pillow. In the meantime, I've had to get my daughters queen size pillows too. So. This isn't the 1st one for me so I have a li'l bit o' advice. The sound has never bothered me, I don't know of anything that can be done about that. The smell, I've always thought it smelled outdoorsy, plant-like and pleasant. Putting it in the dryer seems iffy to me, might damage my dryer... Every few months I put mine outside, on a sunny breezy day, and let it get freshened up. It comes in smelling like sheets dried on a clothesline, very refreshing! These pillows can't be just laid on a bed then lay your head on 'em. You have to find out the shape(s) that work best for you and mold the pillow. One of the best features! A chiropractor once tried to sell me a man-made, artificial, chemically based material pillow that was high on one side, hollowed out in the middle and a slight edge on the opposite side to cradle the head. This is one of the shapes I like. Another is based on the expensive (and un-naturally derived materials) of the 'snore' pillow. You can create that shape with your Buckwheat hull pillow :~)Lastly, my daughter caught the buckwheat hull pillow fever too. She's very environmentally conscious she did some research and concluded that these pillows are better for our health ~ 0 dust mites, 0 off-fuming of chemicals. And they're bio-degradable, sustainable etc.Just overall a terrific healthful product. The 1st king size pillow I bought cost me $73, over 10 years ago. So I was surprised and happy to find this one at such a good price. The zipper on this pillow is superior to my older pillow too. That one leaks hulls time-to-time. This one looks more secure. This pillow feels as full but is lighter than my older one, not sure why that is... The cover seems to be of higher quality as well. It fits my king-size pillowcases perfectly. Great buy, I'm very satisfied!
