OK but could confuse many
I am an amateur astronomer and bought this for my 7yr old as a birthday present. The optics seem reasonable and the tripod is light but fairly steady. The main confusion is with the extras that are included in the package (Barlow lens, erecting lens (?), smartphone mount) - as there are no instructions for use. The Barlow and erecting lenses don't seem to work and I would think the phone mount could lead to hours of messing about to achieve very little. The 20mm eyepiece is OK but the 6mm is going to be difficult to use on a small scope. It will be OK for looking at the moon and one or two other things (double stars etc) but only by using the basic set up with the 20mm eyepiece. All the other stuff will quickly lead to the young user and adult supervisor losing patience and confining it to a cupboard. The instructions give information on the planets which will lead to disappointment as they will still only be seen as stars or tiny discs. The best joke is the mention that seeing Pluto or Mercury could be challenging. Ludicrous that the possibility of seeing these is even hinted at. Sometimes more is less.

Excellent for beginners
Love this telescope. Very easy to set up, has a bag so can take it places. We plan to go camping with it.

Don’t waste your money
Poor quality construction, easy to setup, but unless you want to spy on your neighbours absolutely useless to for star gazing. I couldn’t even get a picture in scope despite a perfect centred image on spotter scope I used the moon as my first celestial body so that I could get used to using it. Scope was flimsy in construction I got better images using my camera than this scope . I was hoping to use this with the grandchildren and get them interested in star gazing, on a plus note I have got them interested in photography

Not sure what to make of this
Returning it. Gave it a 2 not a 1 on the basis maybe I am doing something wrong ? But used to using high power precision spotting scopes for target rifle shooting and have my own astronomy telescope. Got this for the kids. From our top floor balcony, no street light for a mile in any direction, crystal clear sky, biggest full moon for ages, and after 1.5 hours of trying we could not get a single focused image of the moon. The best we got with any combination of the lenses and adjusting the focus was a blurred white blob, far less clear than the view with the naked eye. I kept checking to see if there was a lens film I hadn't removed or something but there wasn't. Completely puzzled and presume defective item so returning. As I say, I am used to using precision telescopes but couldn't get a focus on a full moon. The kids got bored and took a picture of the moon on their ipad and expanded it and got great images instead.
