The Deep Blue Sea Bedtime Shadow Book

We LOVE the illustrations and "older, traditional" type fairytales. I've bought a total of 3 of these books (because my 3 year old granddaughter and I enjoy reading and viewing them so much). I gave one to my daughter and plan on purchasing another for her and her little girl. These books have become part of a wonderful and almost "magical" bedtime ritual.

Whoo's There? was our first Bedtime Shadow Book, but we quickly added others. Not only does he love to call out what is projected, he loves it when we "animate" them (either by moving the flashlight or book), like the owl from Whoo's There flying across the room, or the rocket from Up, Up and Away basting off, or doing a hula with the fishes in Deep Blue Sea. He accompanies the action with sound effects and runs around the room in excitement. Half the time we don't even read the story, we just play with the images and make up our own!The books don't work very well with older incandescent flashlights, so we used our camera phones at first (there are numerous apps that turn the flash into a flashlight) and then bought some small and inexpensive LED flashlights that are bright and project the image very clearly.Such a wonderful idea, and with the right light provides hours of entertainment.

I gave this book to my niece for her 6th birthday (complete with dolphin pajamas and a blue mini flashlight) and she absolutely LOVES it!! Can't wait to order another shadow book!!

Very cute book, my 2 \1/2 year old grandson loves it. Great way to wind down for bedtime, lights turned off and quietly looking at the ceiling. You need a regular small flashlight, the bright white ones are too strong and blurr the pictures.

If you are giving as a gift - add a small flashlight and explain how amazing it will look in the dark. My granddaughters opened them and had huge disappointment on their face because the books are black and white. Once they understand the idea behind them they will love these books.

This is a used book and was just like the description stated. Very well taken care of, even though the cover was slightly worn but the description specified that. Very great value for the money! My girl loves it!!!

For those who said the pictures are out of focus, I did a little experimenting. If you use a flashlight with more than one bulb, like a multi bulb LED, the pictures will not be in focus. You have to use a flashlight with more of a focal point, a flashlight with ONE bulb and it works great. It's a very cute little book.

Great idea for the book but sadly didn't function nearly as well as expected, this was bought for a 4 year old & it neither worked well or captured his imagination as a result..wouldn't buy again...:(

We have enjoyed this book at bedtime with our own grandkids & now give it as a gift to others. The children love the story & the unique presentation.
