Great Idea
As part of Summer learning, I purchased real dissection animals for the older children, but did not want the youngest, age 9, working with a real scalpel. I purchased one each of these kits for her to use so she would not feel left out. It was the perfect solution. She worked on the frog yesterday and followed along in the brightly colored pamphlet, as the older children followed their dissection instructions. There were enough opportunities for learning, such as “Do not dig or scrape with the scalpel,” so she could learn how to use the instruments and feel like she was part of the group. She liked this so much it sparked a real interest in biology, and science in general, The only down side I can see is the animal is made from thick gel and one of the legs came off while she was working on it. It’s most likely she leaned too hard on that side, or handled it wrong, so I’ll need to pay closer attention when she works on the other animals. A plus is there are two more packets of gel for the mold, so if there are multiple small children they can each get a turn dissecting a specific animal, too. I would purchase the item again without any reservation..

Great
My 9 son year old loves this! It was messy dissecting it, but that’s part of the fun. Putting it back together and redoing the mold to do it a second time was relatively easy.Neat learning experience.

Great Dissection Kit
Purchased several of these for my sixth grade class when studying the life cycle of the frog. This is a great alternative to real dissection for kids. The individual parts are easy to assemble after dissection and can be used repeatedly for other classes. My kids loved this project.

Great present!
My 6 year old son wanted “science experiments” for Christmas. He was thrilled with these dissection kits…I also love how it wasn’t a one shot experiment, you are given refills to do them again!

Great for anyone
My son saw these and wanted them. They come with extra pouches so it's not a one and done toy. I haven't tried but in pretty sure you could use unflavored gelatin. The packaging is also the container so don't get rid of it

Salamander Simulated Synthetic Lab Dissection Toy
Salamander Simulated Synthetic Lab Dissection Toy. Nice little dissecting toy but the only problem I have with it is, it makes a big mess. The red skin that you cut into breaks off really easy and if you keep squeezing it, it will crumble into little tiny slimy pieces that are hard to clean up lol. Also has a bad smell to it. Like a Chemical smell. But all in all, It keep my little one busy for about 15mins.

Fun!
This was a fun toy for my 10 year old nephew. Slimy and interesting enough to preoccupy him for awhile!

This toy was a hit!
My 6 year old nephew absolutely loved this toy! He enjoys slime and skeletons so this "spooky" toy that he can dissect made his day. Perfect for curious kiddos.

One time use only.
I bought this as a gift for one of my children, and when asked what he thought of it he said it was fun, but a little disappointing because you can't put it back inside the skin when you're done directing it to do it again.

Cool but SO Messy
The skeleton and organs are pretty neat but the purple gel is incredibly messy. It is almost crumbly and hard to get off anything it touches. Next time, I'd just buy the skeleton and skip the 'dissection'.
