Accurate range finder
I bought one when my old Leopold died. I am very happy with it. It is very easy to use, no complicated settings. You can change battery when needed. And I think it is very accurate. I would buy it again.

Not as good as the Bushnell
Light in weight , compared to the Bushnell. It comes in a good pouch. Very accurate in distance. The only issue is that it fiddly to get the measure as it vibrates in your hand. The Bushnell was just point and shoot

Pricey but worth the extra for the preciseness and overall quality...
The “CoolShot 50i” from Nikon is a high-end, high-powered range finder for assistance with improving your golf game. There are certainly lower priced range finders out there, and a good deal of these do perform pretty well. However, with this slightly more pricey rangefinder, you get that much more technology and reliability. When used regularly, you will notice you start to learn from each shot, how far you can hit, and more importantly, better club selection. The rangefinder is incredibly easy to use and become accustomed to so you can get the most out of it. Personally, I find it so damn frustrating when you have to spend an age learning how to use a new piece of kit. With this rangefinder, it’s got a number of excellent features, however, the majority of its use if fairly self-explanatory to use from the outset. The distance reading is very clear and appears to be incredibly precise. Even in cloudy conditions or low light it performs without an issue whatsoever. The actual construction of the thing is also top notch. It’s got an incredibly solid build to it, is waterproof, and could undoubtedly withstand plenty of knocks, bumps and drops. It comes with a handy carrycase which provides extra protection. Although I really should point out that the rangefinder is very compact and lightweight and should not be an issue for anyone to carry around with them on a golf course.Having used the rangefinder now on a number of occasions I can say it’s by far the best one I’ve tried out. I have a number of friends who use them, and I’ve tried there’s in the past. This one however, beats the mid-range ones hands down. The sheer ease of use and reliability of the precise reading is what it’s all about. And this rangefinder absolutely delivers that.

An exquisite rangefinder that gets it right the first time, every time.
Now if you're looking at this, you possibly already know the benefits of a range finder and how much of a help one can be for your game. But how does this premium high-end range finder from Nikon perform?Well, the simple answer is brilliantly well. Now, whatever handicap or standard you are, half the battle is club selection and distance control but as amateurs, we don't have the benefit of an experienced caddy to accompany and advise us on our rounds. So, this is where the Coolshot 50i comes into its own. It's a beautiful piece of kit that is built with vast know-how and expertise, and it shows. The Coolshot 50i comes both well packaged and well presented in its own branded box with everything you need to get started, and it's ready to go. Once stood at the first tee and ready to hit that first shot, it's as simple as pointing the Coolshot at the flag or chosen marker on the fairway using the viewfinder, the unit will vibrate once locked on and the distance is set, it's as easy as that. It will accurately perform at a distance of 400 yards and makes its calculations and adjustments to distance based on slope adjusted distance and actual distance so the correct club can be chosen whether you're on an elevated tee or looking up at an elevated green. It's genius, and It all feels a bit James Bond-like, which is no bad thing in my book.Nothing worse than hitting a great drive only to watch your ball run out of fairway or hitting an iron from the tee to green that feels like you've nailed it but you've under or over clubbed and missed another green despite perfect ball-striking on that one shot you'll get. This eliminates some of the silly mistakes that cost shots on a round and will genuinely help to keep the golf handicap heading in the right direction. It can't play your shots for you, but you'll definitely learn a little more about your own game and exactly how far you consistently hit your clubs in a real on course setting as opposed to hitting hundreds of balls at the range and costly sessions with a pro in easy conditions. We’ve all been in that position where It's windy, it's raining and the flag is placed at the back of a large green on a course you’ve never played before and you’ve no clue what the distance is. The difference between picking the right club and not can make or break the round and this Coolshot 50i range finder from Nikon doesn’t leave those situations to luck. It can sure make a difference and will take shots off your rounds and handicap, it's that good and I am more than happy to recommend it.Thanks for taking the time to read my review, I hope you found it helpful. All the best

A Premium Quality Product For A Premium Price
Comes with the CoolShot range finder, battery(not rechargeable), carry pouch and manual. The pouch can be threaded onto a belt for easy hip carry, has a carabiner to clip to a trouser loop or to your club bag and a strong magnet on the side so you can securely attach to any metal surface. It has a zip closure and an elastic pull over strap that hooks onto the outer metal catch.Inside the case there are elastic straps that prevent the case from opening fully so the range finder won't fall out accidentally, the inner case is lined with an ultra soft felt fabric to protect your gadget. It's very well made and easy to use, easy to cycle through the modes you need for golf or gauging distance, easy to focus the eyepiece so the target stays in focus. You can either tap the power button once to have it show the distance and angle or you can hold it and move the viewer around and it'll update it live while you're scanning around. There are only two settings - one to increase the brightness of the optic display and to change the metrics from Yards to Meters.Very comfortable in hand, fairly compact itself so it could fit into the pocket of regular fit trousers. At £333 it's pretty pricey which is why I gave it 4 stars but it is a very useful tool out on the golf course and the quality that Nikon provides from their decades of experience producing cameras and lenses gives them the advantage here. There are much cheaper alternatives out there but I'd imagine they either lack features or accuracy that you'd get with a premium quality product like this Coolshot device.
