Four Rings: The Audi Story

After 12 days of waiting this book comes in a plastic envelope, not a good idea since the way USPS beats the heck out of the book corners throwing it around. I suggest not being cheap with a 50 dollar book and put it in a box for the same price.

Great book for an Audi enthusiast. Great history of original 4 companies which later formed Auto Union and later with addition of NSU formed Audi.

Quality is perfect. Much better than I expected. Truly something to have in your arsenal of books. Has great information and would highly recommend to any Audi enthusiast.

For those who like to read about the automotive history this is a well illustrated, richly detailed book about Audi's history that goes back to the turn of 19th century. There is an abundance of historical pictures and the personalities who shaped the 5 companies that make up Audi come alive.

A very nicely done book. Great pictures, but not just a picture book. It should appeal to those who are automotive enthusiasts but not particularly Audi enthusiasts; for Audi enthusiasts, it's a must.

Having an Audi-fan husband, this book was a must for his birthday. I was delighted to find it on Amazon, as we believed it to be in-dealership coffee table only.It is a big book and should be regarded as reference only, although specialist areas would provide interesting in depth reads.Specialist areas come up well detailed, as does the history per se and design origins of certain models.This book would provide a great gift opportunity for the Audi interested, or indeed for those who are simply automotively motivated. Say no more - a terrific book and fab purchase.

This is a beautifully produced book and despite being a Kindle enthusiast this book shows why there'll always be space for the two mediums to co-exist. This book is a beautiful object in its own right plus the content is a fitting homage to Audi as it evidences meticulous research and attention to detail. "The Four Rings" covers the evolution of the Audi, DKW, Horch, Wanderer and NSU marques from as far back as 1873 to 2009. The presentation is magnificent with black and white and colour pictures on virtually every page with plenty of detailed and highly informative text. The book concludes with various appendices including a "who's who?" of the Audi World.I can't imagine anyone being disappointed in this book but, if I were to have a gripe, it is that despite the book being published in mid-2013 the history ends in 2009 - which means that events like the launch of Audi's A1 Supermini (and BMW Mini competitor) which represents new class of car for the Audi brand is omitted. However, the book is about the evolution of the "Four Rings" and it succeeds in that regard and perhaps leaves scope for another volume on contemporary events in the future. Recommended.

We bought this excellent book as a birthday present for our Audi-loving son. Although this book is quite a hefty tome it is such a brilliant buy as it is loaded with all the info you would ever need to know about the history of Audi and their various cars etc. Practically every other page has a fantastic full-colour photo which helps to make this book one that you just want to keep delving into again as you've probably missed something the last time you looked at it!
