This is a fun and very informative book on what programming is and how to choose what programming language will fit your own needs. It's not made to teach you programming end to end by any means, but it gives you a solid understanding of the top programming languages and clears up the confusion and biases that float around the Internet when you try to look for yourself. I really love the descriptions the author gives on all the different languages and he even shows you syntax examples so you know exactly what to expect. All in all I enjoyed this book and would recommend it as a first for anyone who is interested as a career or a fun hobby in the exciting world of computer science.

It is a very good book for anyone who wants to start living the life of code. I read this piece when I was studying for a job interview and altough it didn't gie me anything new about the languages used in this book, it did helped me dust off the "old thinking machine" and relarn some advanced things that professionaly I have never used such as some advanced data structures, bit manipulation and such.

An excellent book for beginners in programming, easy to read and understand. I would recommend this book if you are still undecided to pick a programming language, or you don't know what programming is. Loved the book will read it again to reinforce.

I just got the book and was surprised to find that it is a small thin book, I don't think it is really worth the cost. I will have to be more careful next time.

As a former BASIC/QuickBasic programmer, I was looking to begin programming in a 64 bit language. From reading this book, it appears that Python is the language best suited to my needs.

Gave good insight to the different languages available. Programming is something I've been interested in and want to dive into. This helped me choose the language to try first.

Best book ever for beginners, very simple, concise and complete. Liked it and going to refer for my technical interview.

Good

This pamphlet basically tells you what the basic languages of computer programming are. It does not go into ant more detail than that. Furthermore the standard of english is very poor with grammatical errors, unfinished sentences as well as completely failing to fulfil the points made in the introduction. Worth every penny, Free.
