I recently installed track lighting in my garage and did not want to hassle with trying to run wiring down an interior wall to install a light switch due to multiple challenges. So instead of hard wiring the track lighting, I installed a plug cord to it. I purchased the Dewenwils Remote control outlet with wireless light switch, plugged it into the receptacle in the attic, plugged the track lighting into it, closed the attic door, and forgot about it! I am very pleased with the outcome as it works perfectly. It’s very convenient as well. The best thing is I didn’t have to get into the tight attic space to fish Romex down the wall cavity or make any holes in the drywall. I tested the range that the switch will pick up the signal and based on the location of my plug, 80ft is the max distance before it was out of range. This will differ for each based on location and obstacles between the plug and switch. The switch and plate are very stylish and looks good mounted on any wall. There are so many uses for this product. I highly recommend!

I just finished my basement and did not wire a switch to my neon. This worked perfectly so I did not need to rewire anything. Easy fix and this item does not look cheap as a switch on the wall.

I have a disconnected light switch, and it's at a perfect location for a remote control like this to switch on and off the garbage disposal. It's rated 15A, higher than most similar products on Amazon.However, after the first installation, the switch didn't perform as expected. It works fine if you use it in hand, but once it sticks to the wall plate, it works only sporadically. It took me a while to figure out that the wiring behind was loose, generating interference to the operation of this switch. After redoing the capped wiring connections, it works fine now. Hopefully this helps if you encounter the same problem.

I bought it to control a lamp across the room from the door. It set up easilyand eorks perfectly. I like the magnetic mounting plate because i tend to lose remotes..I would have given it 5 stars except that the mounting plate is made from a shiny bright white plastic that has a cheap look. The manufacturer should make it in the standard device colors and satin finish.

I bought this to control my string lights on our screened in porch. As you can see in the pictures, the outlet is about 10ft up on the wall which worked out great for our lights, but makes plugging things in impossible without dragging out a ladder. Ideally the outlet would have been wired to a switch to begin with, but that isn't the case here. This does exactly what I need it to do with no problems so far.I mounted the remote next to our 3 gang switch box inside the house, and it really doesn't look too out of place to the average person. I chose this product in particular because the remote looks about as close to a 'decora' switch as you can get. The door leading out to our patio is just to the left in the picture, and the outlet is on the exterior wall. There's no problem with communication through the wall.Some reviewers are frustrated it doesn't fit in a standard 'decora' style cover plate like in the picture, but I doubt that was the intended purpose so I can't dock them for that, although that would have been a nice touch. Other reviewers also claim you have to push the button multiple times to get it to function, I find a simple press and hold for a fraction of a second makes it work every time.I really can't find any complains for $17. The best and most reliable option every time would obviously be to wire your receptacle to a switch, but if you can't or don't want to do that a couple minor "quirks" don't seem like a huge deal to me.For what it's worth, there is also an on/off button on the plug in, so if your remote battery dies (and your plug is within reach) you can easily turn it on and off that way as well. I'll likely order a couple spare batteries to keep on hand.Great product, I ordered a second one to have for future projects!

Got this and pluged it in. It did not work so I followed the programming directions (severl times) and it still does not work. I tried deleteing the programming, per instructions) and that did not work...I needed a unit with 2 outlets controlled by 1 switch... there are very few like that.

Sadly, I’m one of those consumers who typically only writes reviews to worn others when products are bad. However, I cannot help but write an awesome review for this product. I was looking at a smart light switch and smart lightbulb to add some extra light to a bedroom. That got very complicated. I had to download an app, and configure everything to the Wi-Fi then run it through Google home.Then I found this product. Super easy, preprogrammed, took just a few minutes to install. Also, about one third the price. What I really like about this product, is it comes with two switches. I mounted one to the wall, and put the other as a standalone remote sitting on the nightstand. It can be used like a typical three-way light switch. It took only minutes to install, while the smart light bulb and switch would’ve taken way more time and effort to learn, understand, and set up.I was so pleased with this product, that I purchased two more sets for elsewhere in the home. For example, I’m using one in the garage. I can have a switch on the wall and keep the removable remote in the car. That way I can turn on the light from the car before getting out, and turn off the light with the switch mounted at the door to enter the house.

It is exactly as I had expected. Works great for my patio lighting!

I installed it at the door of my office so that I could turn the light on when walking in.It operates like a regular light switch, but you can take the control off and use it as a remote fob.

Easy to set up and works effectively. The switch blends in with the typical switches, but looks more modern.

This is such a useful and handy product. I can control lighting easily in every room. I installed one in my bedroom (reading light). I used to have to get up and turn off the light but now, just next to my bedstand, I have control and can easily shut the light off. Handy!

Bought 2 so far. Easy installation. Used magnetic pad which holds removable remote control to adhere thru side panel of wardrobe by installing a rare earth disc magnet inside the wardrobe. Easiest lighting solution I’ve found through lots of renovating.
