I used this luster dust to make fondant Viking hats for cupcakes. It worked wonderfully and went on easily. Blended and spread beautifully. I hardly used any of the container at all on a dozen pieces. I applied with cheap makeup brushes I found here on Amazon. I will definitely be using this brand in the future in different colors. It really made the helmets stand out so much more than when they were just the plain chocolate fondant color. I could also see this being used very lightly to give cake decorations an “antique” or “vintage” look, for instance, on some molded baroque or cameo pieces. Very pleased with my purchase.

Arrived well packaged, looked just like the pictures, and had no taste at all (which is good).However, mixed with white icing it turned a very pretty plum color, not brown at all. I even tried the entire amount and only got a deeper plum color. Maybe it would work better with royal icing or spray work.

Worked perfect on making my leopard print cake look more realistic.

Thought brown was more matte but it is very pretty and sparkly. Will find something to use it on. :)

Overall the dust itself works fine, but it's not a true, plain brown. It has a metallic shimmer to it that I wasn't looking for. Maybe I missed it in the description. I used it to give a fondant book cake and aging effect and wasn't expecting the metallic shimmer. In the end it was fine, but I wouldn't purchase again if I'm looking for plain brown.
