The module itself integrates the hard decoding of MP3, WAV and WMA perfectly. **Q: Can I put 9v to it, or will it burn up?** A: The datasheets that I have found for this part indicate that the supply voltage range is 3.3 to 5.0 VDC. Anything above 5VDC will most likely damage the unit. **Q: Can this be used as a simple single button sound player without a microntroller?** A: Absolutely, I have it set up that way. If you only want one sound file to be played when you press a single button you can do that by adding a simple push button switch between pin 12 and ground. I use it on a cosplay gun to trigger a laser blast sound file when I pull the trigger; you just need to add a small speaker to pins 6 and 8, and power to pins 1+ and 7- (and the sound file on a mem stick of course). **Q: Would I be able to play audio from a Bluetooth module?** A: You can use additional hardware to use a DF Mini Player with a Bluetooth module, but you'll need to know what you're doing to make it happen. This doesn't natively support Bluetooth. Easy Setup, Easy Use! *by on Reviewed in the United States 3 February 2019* I bought this device to produce sound for a modern cuckoo clock. On board amplifier is plenty to drive the speaker, and there is very low distortion at the maximum volume level. Had a basic push button setup to verify the device operation in about 10 minutes; thirty minutes later was driving it using serial interface from a Raspberry Pi using the wiring Pi library. I have not used the DAC and USB interface methods. Overall I am extremely happy with these modules. Recommended.Addendum:After two months of use I have to say this is one of the best documented modules to come out of China. The serial interface is extremely easy to program for a robust and error free library. Very liberal mp3 allowances gives you the freedom to spend time using the module instead of DJ-ing mp3 files to play from it. If you are looking to add sounds to a project or building your own MP3 payer, I highly recommend this product. ### ⭐⭐ Didn't serve my purpose *by on Reviewed in Canada 16 July 2026* NOT the actual DFPlayer Mini, as depicted in the ad.Where it mattered for me was that I was looking to tie the ADKEY1 low to allow the player to autoplay when power was switched on, just like the DFPlayer Mini did.
