Eddie Cochran/ Rocks (Bear Family Record CD): Bear Family has taken 35 of the best cuts from their comprehensive 8 CD box set and made the best single CD of Eddie Cochran's music. As usual, Bear Family has restored these cuts to sound as good, or better, then they have ever sounded. If you do not know about Eddie, he wrote some eternal hits ("Summertime Blues" probably being the most famous) but he died in 1960 at the age of 21. The fact is that Eddie's recorded work is a mixed bag (as he simply did not live long enough to do his best work) and yet, this disk is exceptionally compelling. Eddie's few hits are huge; the main body of his work is exciting if immature. This disk only hints at what might have been and for that reason alone I give this 4 out of 5 stars. I, however, still strongly recommend that anyone interested in early Rock N Roll should buy this CD.

Bear Family does it again! Eddie Cochran was one of the prime movers in early rock 'n roll. This album showcases nearly all of his great rockin' songs. The man could do it all. This is the best compilation of Eddie Cochran tunes ever assembled. Great, informative liner notes, and impeccable remastering for incredible sound are just par for the course for Bear Family. If you like great early rock 'n roll, you must get this cd. The music, lyrics and showmanship all add up to a great listening experience, and prove why Eddie Cochran was one of the best.

Pure magic, part II. Eddie is a very important part of the history of rock'n'roll, and is not to be omitted in any good collection. This disc is not only filed with the good stuff - it hardly costs a thing.

Excellent CD, one of the best sounding I've ever heard, if you like Eddie Cochran buy this release you won't be disappointed.

Eddie in various forms, lots of different takes, not just the usual best of.. Great.

This CD is superbly mastered and the track selection is really good with alternate versions of some songs.
