Easy replacement for Smart Stat II
This was a replacement for a SmartStat II (Dec 2009 model). The buttons on the old remote were always very difficult to push and I was concerned that the new one would be the same but they weren't. This new remote had the same features (on/off/thermo) and the buttons were easy to push with a crisp response.The receiver had the same wires as the old one, one 120V plug and two red wires, same as the previous model so it was an exact swap out. It didn't require any code setting or programming either so it was up and running within a few minutes.The only difference I see is that the old one (Smart Stat II) had an option to use batteries in the receiver in case of a power outage. This one does not have a battery backup option. I had never used that option in 15 years so wasn't an issue for me.Great value, easy to connect.The only difference I see

Wish I had gotten this sooner!
After going through two cheaper remotes in the past few years, I was convinced something had to be wrong with the stove. Nope, it was the remote! This one cost me less than the other two combined and it works as well as the original on my 24 year-old Heat&Glo stove! Enjoying my cozy (and dependable) fire again!

Replacement
Its replacing a Heat n Glo receiver that finally quit after 27 years. This receiver was easy to install. The remote that came with it works but temperature varies from 2 to 6 degrees when using Thermo. Good price.

Exact replacement but didn't need other parts in package
Perfect replacement for my fireplace remote - but unnecessary to have the remaining electrical parts as this just synched right to my fireplace remote already attached. I wish I could have purchased just the remote separately - would have been less expensive. Easy to do - instructions were easy to follow and took minutes to get working with existing remote attachments. Saved me having to pay someone to come do this. Happy with the purchase.
