BIC Glide Exact Black Ballpoint Pens, Fine Point, 0.7mm, 12-Count

I have used these type of pens for many years. They write very smoothly and with a fine point that is perfect for everything I have to do at work.

I was a nurse working in various job capacities before my retirement, and the one thing that was true in all my job responsibilities was that there was a lot of writing. My pen of choice for most of those years was Pilot's Dr. Grip. It was comfortable, wrote smoothly, and didn't smear in all the small places I had to write my information in. As time went on I developed severe arthritis and the Dr. Grip became too heavy and uncomfortable to use. I've tried all kinds of pens and inks since then and finally came across the Bic Atlantis Exact Retractable Ball Pen. It's just what I've wanted. The barrel is slightly hour-glass shaped and the grip isn't just on the lower part of the barrel; it extends the full length of it. The pen feels balanced and is lighter in weight than most pens without being so light that I drop it while writing as has happened with other pens. Also, this is a true fine point pen, perfect for use with my household budget ledger, check book entries, shopping lists, journaling, etc. where a fine line makes for easier reading, and I've had no issues with blotchiness or skipping. I was a little thrown off by the dab of a waxy material at the end of the ink holder; what a great idea to prevent leakage during transit! Finally, I know other reviewers have had issues with getting the clip to open wide enough to accommodate their shirt pocket; it is tighter than other pens but for me this is useful to clip on my shopping list and ensures the pen will still be there when I take the list out at the store. This feels like a pen made just for me!

These are my go-to pens. They write super smooth and the pen itself is very comfortable to hold. I'm one of those people with an odd death-grip on pens when I write so having a comfy pen is a top priority. It's soft and smooth without being mushy or bulky. I only buy and use these pens.

These pens are cheaper here than in the stores! The stores wanted 3 pens for $13! On Amazon you can get a whole box for that price. The ink flows very smoothly and they write nicely. Easy to hold in your hand as well. Wish the plastic housing on the pen came in a variety of colors- not just a grey color.

This pen wrote well and very smooth however it came in second in my testing to the Uniball Jetstream, which was the best in my opinion and the others that tried them as well.

You could get a ballpoint pen. Or you can get a fine tipped pen, but you'll likely have to settle for a rollerball or a gel. Or even a felt tipped. Shudder. But what about a pen which is both a ballpoint and fine? Well, you've found a fine pen, my friend, and this is it. You see, I write small. You can say I'm known for writing small. There was a recent incident with the bank being concerned about a fraudulent check (what? A check you say? Yes. I'm still going through checks I bought almost twenty years ago. Ask me about it sometime) and it was cleared up with a description about my small handwriting. Anyway, I write small. Maybe it's from all the note taking I did in school. And I'm also left handed. So the ink from all those nifty, new-fangled roller balls, gels, and felt tips get all over my poor left hand. No bleeding through pages, no bleeding through pockets and pants (or dresses? For those that can find them with pockets? And carry pens in them?) This pen is a godsend (or dietysend? or spaghettimonstersend?). Because it's everything I want a pen to be. But, as with everything in this world, it's not perfect. Because the ball is small, it can get gunked up pretty easily which causes the pen to stop working (so I wouldn't recommend using it to write on body parts; maybe don't ask). Also, apparently the pockets in my shorts are wife enough for these to get stuck horizontally, so there have been a few which have gotten stuck and a little broken when I tried to retrieve them. Tape has mostly worked for repair. Can you tell I really like these things? Taping up pens like the bridge on those glasses you had in fourth grade. Because I care. But, I can deal with the rare clogging and breaking issues because otherwise these things are fantastic.

The box and ad state "12" pens. However, there were only 11 in the box. It's more a matter of principle to receive the product as described. I chose not to return these pens because they aren't available locally and others had raved about these pens. The pens feel good to hold and look beautiful. It doesn't write as smooth as other pens that I have purchased. I would not buy this product again and will keep searching for the perfect pens.
