The wood is gorgeous and would be a lovely piece, expect due to one of the screws being too short, it doesn't work! The yarn guide isn't able to be attached so I have a useless collection of wood. Very disappointed as was a Christmas present. Don't bother buying from this seller. What good is stylised wood if it cannot do it's purpose

Good quality. Works so much better than my old fashioned plastic one and looks nicer too. No instructions on how to put it together but managed quite easily after I looked up the picture on Amazon. One thing to note - there seem to be two slightly different configurations in the pictures, so I did also have to work out which one I had. I would suggest that instructions be included to make life easier for everyone!Arrived within 24hrs and was very well packaged. The spindle screw wouldn’t tightened but the seller rectified this very quickly and pleasantly.

It looks lovely, haven't tried to use it yet but confident it will work. Initially, no idea how to put it together as there were no instructions included and I had extra parts that I couldn't see on the actual product photos. However, I found a review by Ella on 3rd January 2023 which had lots of lovely photos. Put it together in a few minutes after stumbling across that. Thank you Ella! I have also kept the packet that the belt/gasket came in. The Q & A's state that a spare gasket is included, but I didn't have one. It is a pressure cooker gasket, so the empty packet will be useful should I ever need a spare. Can't wait to start using it. I have several skeins that need winding into a lovely cake.

The spindle part in the middle is too large so the wheel will not fit above it. Also, to make matters worse, the screw at the end is in the middle rather than on one corner. Just useless.

I think this is wonderful. It is a beautiful colour of wood. It is taking prime space on my shelf. The price was amazing. It looks like I should have paid double. It is beautifully made. It does not squeak when using it runs smoothly. Thank you Sao much for my winder

This item is let down but the vise supplied to attach it to a surface. It just doesn't do the job. That means when winding yarn you have to hold it down (even when going slowly) and therefore cannot control the tension, resulting in larger looser balls of yarn. It also doesn't help that the tension arm easily moves about too.The item fells sturdy until you come to use it and then it is not quite fit for purpose.Looks nice on the shelf though, better than the plastic alternatives, but I will be looking for a better way to hold it down for future use.

It didn't fit together properly, looked like someone else had had it before and tried to put it together, returned and won't be buying again.

Once assembled using a YouTube video to show me how! The winder is made well & look forward to using it 😀

The media could not be loaded. I like the quality of wood and the way it works. But it definitely needs instruction how to assemble and use it. It didnt work first of all but I figured out that i have to set thread holder right on the corner and wind the wool anti clockwise. This way it works perfectly. Another way skeins are not forming.

Right out of the box there were issues. First being no instructions or information at all on getting it ready to use.Once put together there were very obvious fitment issues. How this is supposed to work the bobbin touching and spins around the little cone shaped knob as the bobbin on the base turns. Think of the earth spinning slowly as it also moves around the sun. As you can see if the first picture. The cone and the bobbin are no where near touching.Lucky for me I have a woodwork who was able to help make this functional. As you can see in the second picture he remade the cone, and fixed the bobbin that was out of round along the edge of the by shaving a 1/8 inch off.The clamp was too small. Given the size and weight of the ball winder base the clamping block could not it down.The only reason I did not return it is a tried a different clamp and dented the wood.Had the cone been a proper size and the bobbin endge was not out of round preventing it from spinning properly, thid would have been a home run! The finish is beautiful the wood is smooth and the hardware good quality. This item shows a lack of quality control for this company.

I just received the ball winder I ordered through Amazon. I bought it for a gift for a friend going through a tough time. I wanted to send her something special. I decided to test it out before I sent it. I'm very glad I did. I does not work. It's action works then it doesn't. I had yarn on my swift and fed it to the ball winder and it would work then with any tension at all it would not. I worked on it trying to make it work for over an hour and finally gave up.It is a beautiful doorstop. I thought I would let you know before I place a review online. Maybe there is something I can do. But truly I tried for quite some time. Anyway. Take care. 1st time I made an ugly cake. 2nd time was better... so on. But it does get noisy! Faster spinning for better outcome. Also, the thing wiggles loose. Not enough stabilizing power.
