4 Total Window Wedges - Adjustable Window Stop - Pack of 2 - 4 total

I was looking for a non-permanent way to keep our windows safe for our toddler and preschooler. We are currently renting so things like the bars were not an option, and they were very expensive. I found these window wedges and they are fantastic! So easy to install - no tools required. It took about 3 minutes to do 2 windows. The wedges themselves are very effective. They allow the window to open a predetermined distance and no further, even with an adult trying with a decent amount of force. At first I was skeptical of the hook and loop tape (velcro), but it holds securely. The bonus is that when the kids are downstairs, I can remove the wedges and open the windows as wide as I want to let in a nice breeze. I really love these and will order more as needed when we move. Right now there is only one window in each of the kids' rooms. They also came in a nice package and with clear, easy to follow instructions. Extra credit points for the designer to make the package 4 inches wide, and note it in the directions. Four inches is the recommended maximum window opening for keeping a child safe.

I had a son almost fall out a window that had a safety lock on it during his nap time. (The kind you get at home depot that go over the track and a twist screw tightens it on). Somehow it loosened on its own a bit and my almost 2 year old got on the window sill and muscled the window open. (There was a scratch down the track where the lock dragged). He fell out but was somehow able to grab onto the Window and pull himself back in. A neighbor boy saw it and knocked on my door to let me know what happened as I was downstairs and had no idea! My son was scared to death and so was I. It was concrete below. And here I thought id taken steps to keep him safe. Then I found these. I wish I had known about them all along. Anyone with kids should own these.THESE locks WORK! Not only that, way easy to put up, dont leave scratches or damage on track, AND quick and easy to put on and off for times when you're there in the room and want to open the window, or in case of fire.

These work well, non permanent install with a permanent feel. I've had these on for about a year on my 2nd story windows in the back of my house. We have a walkout, so these rooms are really 3 stories up in the air. I've slid the windows open fairly aggressively to try and knock them out, and they stay in place. I have peace of mind knowing these are installed, and more importantly I believe they will work if/when the kids begin to try and open their windows on their own.

I wasn’t sure when I ordered these what I would think. I’m impressed. They are extremely simple, yet very effective. I like that they mount to the wood.I also ordered some WindowBullys at the same time. The WondoBully because of it’s design requires mounting it on the glass.I’m buying some more of the window wedges.

Wonderful idea; but the Velcro is not strong enough, it falls out easily and little hands can remove them with ease. This item would be good for like a dog, or anything else that doesn't have operational fingers. I purchased this product to keep my little ones from opening windows, while allowing my older children to easily remove the lock in case of emergency. But even when I've secured it according to instructions, my two year old easily pulls them off to play with them.

This. Is. A. Complete. Fail. I honestly bought very few products in my life that were equally as useless. Bought four packages, used three to try and secure the three windows in our kids' room. The Velcro does not grip the wedges very well, so anyone can just open the window applying very little force. All you hear is a faint scrape as the wedge is dragged upward on the Velcro track and then flies off!!! So useless, they may as well not even be there at all. Velcro track gathers dirt and dust, so the longer it is used, the more of an eyesore they becomes. Wedges fall off all the time. Thank goodness, was able to scrape them off my windows, dump them in a box (along with an unused pair) and sent them back for a refund.One good thing: Velcro removes cleanly from the window seal. There. I found enough good things for 1 star.

These are excellent. I have old wood windows in my house with locks that are questionable at best after being used for many, many years. Recently someone has been going around in my neighborhood attempting to open windows, so needless to say I began to worry about my windows more than I already do while saving up to replace them. I bought a set of these to test out first, and was really impressed with how strong the wedges hold. Admittedly, I don't have much upper body strength, but I could not force the window open no matter how hard I tried. The wedges also did not budge off the velcro track which I found reassuring as well. Since my windows are double hung, it also serves to keep the top and bottom windows from being opened. I now have these on 90% of the windows in my house and plan to finish installing them on the rest. They may not be the absolute best way to secure your windows of everything on the market, but I am very pleased and feel much better about my windows' security until I can replace them.
