Daruma Sashiko Thread Card | #202 Thin 40 Meter (3)

I do alot of stitched shibori, and sashiko thread is GREAT for that because it's thick and doesn't break. Makes for great resist. However the reason I like this brand best is simple. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO TANGLE. There's another brand that comes in great big hanks, you get alot of thread for the money, but it's one big tangle from from the word go. Big pain in the butt to even get enough thread off the hank to use. But there is NONE OF THAT with this brand. Simply unroll the length you want, thread your needle and sew. Great deal moneywise too.

Easy to use and very high quality. I love this. I ordered 5 more. Daruma threads are very good quality that my grandmother was using in Japan.

I am learning how to sew by hand boro boro or Sashiko, so this thread is essential, it is the correct weight and thickness for getting even stitches. I am brand new at this and when I invested in this thread found my stitches to be more even and easier to sew. I also got some hand made needles made in Japan also...I am hand stitching the hems of some shibori furoshiki I made, as practice,....big difference with this thread, much better to use.
