Quality printed product and Well Designed System.
In case you're unfamiliar with Frostgrave, by the same creator, Rangers o'S'deep is a set of rules and conceptual content for SOLO/COOP fantasy battling in 3d on your dining table, some scenarios to get started, and some nicely-written background to fill in some of your imagination's gaps. I suppose one could easily adjust this content for PvP, too... but that's what Frostgrave is, and I bought this for the solo-specific adjustments. AND FOR GAMEPLAY THAT DOESN'T REQUIRE PREMADE MAPS!The content is pretty much exactly what you'd expect/hope for, if you're looking for Frosthaven codified and indexed for you to play solo/coop instead of PvP. Seems to me you can interchange just about anything you'd like between the two though I've not gotten deep into any of those weeds. The printing is crisp, I personally ADORE the 2-tone illustrations, the paper is thick, the binding and cover appear durable and solid. And for as far as I've used it for less-than-a-dozen checks, the Index is actually practically useful. There is enough Worldbuilding for satisfying fantasy immersion and there are enough included scenarios to get to know the game mechanics well.If your sense of imagination is quite good, it's valuable to keep in mind that you can, quite literally, play this game in its fullness with a bunch of ...looks around... like, cut sections of dowels for player and monster figures and books or little boxes as terrain. You can upgrade the experience by fully painting miniature trees, rocks, ponds with grass, and figures for every type of monster you can find in the scenarios... or anywhere in between. Honestly you could play it with coins with little sticker-labels on them, if you wanted, or even scraps of paper that're all roughly the same size. But it's more fun to use that collection of assorted and random miniatures that's been growing seemingly of its own accord.I'll just add, in case one of the editors read this, that there's a few layout errors and sprinkled grammatical errors, *most* of which are not problematic. There's a Treasure that didn't get laid out right so it looks like it's part of the description of the previous one....but I'd happily buy it again just as it is, cuz the book is really nicely made.

Essential accessory for a great game
As an enthusiastic fan of Rangers of Shadowdeep, I was very excited to see these reference cards. While not necessary to play the game (rulebook includes all relevant creature statistics), it is extremely handy to have these cards, significantly cutting down on time flipping through the rulebook, bouncing between looking for creature stats and checking the scenario rules and charts. The cards themselves feel durable, about the same quality as good playing cards. The artwork and design of the cards are simple and perfectly in line with the aesthetic of the rulebook and game as a whole. I find the cards easy to read and easy to find and organize within the included tuck box. I believe the set includes all creatures found in the basic rules as well as some expansions, although I don't know if it includes all creatures from all expansions, as I am not familiar with all available scenarios and campaigns for the game. Overall, this is a very handy resource, and highly recommended as an enriching accessory to a very enjoyable TTRPG.

One of the finest solo miniatures games
I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not but after I got to play a few games I can absolutely recommend it. It's very easy to get the hang of just after a few games and you can use a variety of miniatures or objects if you really wanted. 5 out of 5 stars highly recommend it!

Fans of Frostgrave will love this similar game
Back in the 1980s games workshop published Mordheim. It was a surprise hit that garnered thousands of fans. The game involved using small bands of heroes exploring a destroyed city for treasure and glory. Fast forward to the present and Frostgrave delivered to fans what Games Workshop failed to do. Create a new edition of the beloved small team treasure seeking skirmish game. Rangers offers fans a different setting but with all of the same fun packed in. Instead of wizards, the focus is on warriors and weapons. I own both and they are not fun to play. Try the science fiction version Stargrave too!
