Hard but informative read
Very informative. The author focuses on the differences in legal proceedings and sentencing across Europe in cases relating to the SA of women and girls and their unfair and unjust treatment by the legal systems in stark contrast to the treatment of the perpetrators. Facts, figures and heartbreaking cases.

Important timely book on the way immigration has eroded and may threaten woman's rights in Europe
This book should be read by advocates of uncontrolled immigration from Muslim countries when most of the immigrants are young men. It asks difficult questions about the consequences of this immigration for the freedom of all women living in Europe under the impact of male , predominantly Muslim behaviors which are imported with these immigrants, whatever their legal status. If you reject Ali's conclusions then rather than accusing her of prejudice you should write your own book proving why she is wrong. If you can find the evidence to back up your views, that is.I would also like to add a coda to this subject;the intimidation of women effects all of us including their fathers, brothers, sons, boyfriends and partners. It effects our lives and marriages and our children. It has an effect on every aspect of our lives. We may not notice this or we may discount it or even rather like it. But we will regret it if it is not faced and checked.

Eye opening factual information.
I heard stories from people who have had some experience while living beside communities in countries like Germany, Italy and France, mentioned in this book. As I personally haven't experienced as such it was for a long time, hard to associate myself with those statements. Listening Ayaan on the podcast with J. B. Peterson I got triggered and next read this book which ultimately opened views on new perspectives with regards to those issues that so many countries in Europe endeavor. For me it's a must read book! Ayaan, you are a strong and brave woman who I found very inspiring. Thank for being and your book.

Excellent and frightening
This is an excellent book, well written and well researched. However, it is also frightening, because it shows how the liberal West, Europe and North America, seems to be prepared to abandon all the gains that women have a chiefed in terms of equality, advancement, power and rights over the past more than 100 years. The author advances suggestions how this can be avoided while maintaining and openness towards immigration. Crucially, immigrants who come to a country should have to adapt to that country, not the other way around! And the rule of law must be upheld. Read this book!

Essential reading
The credentials of the author are beyond reproach. Given her life story one could never accuse her of being pernicious or malign. With this in mind, what she has to say is of the utmost importance. Her experience and opinions need to be on the national curriculum of education departments the world over.

Disturbing, frightening but insightful, a must read.
This is a fantastic and disturbing description of the erosion of liberal values especially those of females. It vividly shows the ‘West’s’ unwillingness and inability to tackle the issues, and leads to the depressing conclusion that there is to be no escape from a dystopian future.

Should be compulsory reading for all Europeans
It's a terrifying description of how women's rights in Europe are being oppressed and the determined efforts of governments to hide the truth.

Tells it like it is
Recommend the book especially to all liberals who have been thinking their openness to Muslim migration should have no requirements attached. Immigration reform for Europe has become an existential matter to liberal society, and it is now essential for political action.

Relevant and real
I read this book at the recommendation of Ben Shapiro when he interviewed Ali on one of his shows. Ali's sincere intensity intrigued me, along with her back story of having been raised in Islam but leaving the religion as an adult when she fled from Somalia. On a surface level, what I appreciated right off was Ali's conversational tone, which was much more accessible than books I have read by Shapiro and or Michael Knowles.I read the book because my understanding of Islamic culture is superficial at best. I know people who believe that Islamic culture poses no threat to Western ideals and to claim so is racist. I also know people who believe that there is an Islamic effort to take over all Western culture and subject Christians to sharia law. In reading Ali's book I was looking to gain a greater understanding of the true relationship between Islam and Western culture, especially as it relates to women. While I won't claim to be an expert after reading one book, I appreciate the perspective Ali offers. The complexity of Ali's topic makes it difficult to summarize, but she combines immigration and crime statistics and trends with a broad view of Islamic culture, especially as it relates to women, and juxtaposes that view with the values of Western culture. She addresses the many ways this juxtaposition creates conflicts between Muslim immigrants and European nationals, again with specific details regarding how growing conflicts are causing the deterioration for ALL women, not only Muslim women. She also addresses how such conflicts can be better addressed if they are openly addressed by government officials and makes multiple recommendations for immigration reforms that she believes would help Muslim immigrants more effectively integrate into Western Society.

A book from an authentic fighter for women rights
Ayaan Hirsi Ali is an exceptional human being! A genuinely brave and compassionate person (unlike the typical self-aggrandizing armchair activists writing shallow and lazy opinion pieces in the New York Times or the Guardian) she has been tirelessly working for achieving equal rights and the self-determination of women, even daring to focus on some of the parts of the worlds where advocating for such basic human rights is both most needed and very dangerous. Such actions have often come with serious costs and personal risks. e.g.: since 2010 she has been added to an Al-Qaeda hit list (along with Salman Rushdie, as well as some of the Charlie Hebdo journalists who have been assassinated in a 2015 terrorist attack, and others). This book is rich in data, well pondered and researched. Its subject is difficult and important, but is also the kind of politically "sensitive" subject that incompetent, opportunist or naive politicians and bureaucrats like to ignore (even with the risks of making things worse).Sadly, in recent days, the book and its author have been the subjects of smear attacks, both from Islamic extremists and (surprisingly?) from woke "journalists" (like Jill Filipovic, an obscure author given "opinion"-space in the NY Times) ... "journalists" who write while living under the warm blankets of privileges they have never had to earn.
