Original Hold: Ease of Use and Not Tacky
Lately I have been trying a lot of mustache waxes; trying to find one holding my mustache while allowing it to retain a natural look (i.e. not a glued look). My mustache is one of those where one side bends up and the other curves under. No matter how much you try, once up the left goes back and the front forward. I have started using a heat gun (or hairdryer) while holding the mustache to lock it in place. With this wax, this method works well. The wax is easy to use feeling a lot like the more synthetic waxes that come out of the container with no heating required. It is beeswax with a lot of oils, and no lanolin. Surprisingly, even with other waxes, I have found applying oil first softens the hairs making my mustache more manageable (in particularly, because it is hard to get the wax to the base of the hairs). So, I have found this wax to have a good hold despite being soft to apply.I am allergic to anything with "perfume", or "fragrance" in the ingredients. This uses only essential oils and smells nice.Summary:My mustache is as wide as my face when curled. The wax is easy to use, and holds. The wax is non-allergenic. It also leaves the mustache more natural, or "fluffy" while giving full control of shape. Lastly, this would be perfect for a mustache above a beard where you want shape, but consistent texture and look.

Best wax I have found.
I have been using the original hold and scent (white/tan) for about 3 years now. Hold and scent is awesome.I reordered in November 23 and and got the original but it was a different color - Orange. I contacted Mountaineer and asked if I got the right product and they confirmed I did and that it was a new formula they are trying out. They sent me a can of the original (white/tan) free as I was complaining that the hold was not as good as the white. Great customer service! To be honest I really prefer the new (orange) formula more after using for a few weeks. Here's the deal-The original white is great. It holds strong all day. Helped me train my mustache. Works great on a bad hair day to get a grip on the strays. The new original orange doesn't feel like a wax. It doesn't bead or pill up little wax balls. Much easier to reform your mustache later in the day than the white. Mustache feels and looks more full and loose rather than tight and hard with the white. After an hour it feels more dry.If your starting a new or training a mustache I recommend the white. If you have a trained and established mustache I recommend the orange.I hope Mountaineer puts both of these products on here for sale because I want access to both. In the meantime maybe you can request white or orange through the special instructions box when ordering.

Works Well Enough for Me!
Pros: Smells nice, doesn't take too long to warm up and spread. Holds well against wind and brief submersion of water.Cons: Humidity (including face mask use) does make the holding strength weaken considerably. If you are going to be using a mask for the day, I wouldn't put any on and instead use an oil.I am a young man who is trying to grow out a mustache like the days of olde, and I quickly came to find that that usually entails of your whiskers falling into your mouth. I use this mustache wax usually when I'm in a more outdoors environment, as being indoors with masks tends to undo the hold it has, I think due to humidity as I've seen other customers reporting that issue.Without humidity, though? Oh man. Mind you that I tend to use a lot in one sitting to ensure the hold stays, but I can safely say that this product kept my 'stache in place in 160MPH winds when I went to iFly. I was amazed by that! I jokingly said to my brother that I'd give it a good rating if it did another wild thing. That other wild thing was a Spartan Race; throughout the whole race, even after I had to be dunked in cold, muddy water, my mustache held with this product. Thus, here I am; from a beginner, I recommend this product to others interested in trying a wax without breaking the bank.

Works Great For My Handlebar & Masks
Updating after 2 years' use:This was the first wax I tried. It took me a while to get good at using it but it does the trick now. I had to figure out how much to put on and how to warm it etc. The key, I think, is to have a little balm on my hands from doing my beard first. This helps it spread ever so slightly and it works perfectly. I don't like putting it on a dry moustache with no oil or water first. It is a heavy hold, as advertised, so it pulls a little if my moustache is dry.I chose this brand because Mountaineer actually lists its ingredients. I still like the hold. After using for several years it only takes moments to bring my moustache to its full glory each morning. The firm hold lasts all day. I recently tried the original which they advertise as cedar or something and it is terrible. It smells like tar and takes several hours to fade. Additionally, something about the original dries out my upper lip slow and terrible. After a few weeks my lip was hard and didn't stretch for smiling or talking. I stopped using this and a few weeks later I'm back to normal. I doubt it has this effect on everyone but if you have sensitive skin, go with the extra firm unscented even if you don't need extra firm. I was surprised at how great the regular hold works. I actually like it better than the firm but can't get original in unscented (yet).I am very happy I found this product. It has lasted a good long time. At first I questioned $11 for 2 oz of beeswax but it has lasted me 8+ months even with applying double the amount 3 days a week for work.I'm ordering my 4th order of this today.
