Pretty straight forward set-up - nice machine
Okay, for a complicated little machine it has a pretty good step by step instruction set up. One place I thought I might pull my hair out though, was where I tried to get it to connect to my comp by WiFi. I did everything it said and it would not connect. I came up against a wall when it kept saying to follow the instructions on the device (PC) it was connected to. Finally I tried coming at it from another direction and opened my network page on the comp and looked around. I found a little "connect a device" tab and found I had to tell the comp to let the device connect... problem solved. Now the comp had the needed directions to install all the software. Now it works like a charm. Pay attention to the first part where it tells you about the paper tray. There is a green tab in the bottom of the tray that you must use to pull out the front of the tray slightly... about 2-3". Otherwise, you will never get standard sized paper into the machine. Hey, give me a break! I think I am doing pretty well considering. It didn't seem logical that you had to permanently keep a drawer pulled out in front of the machine. You don't.... if you want to remove the paper each time you use it and collapse the drawer.Anyway, except for that, it is a well thought out and set up machine. I was concerned about the complaints about the pull up panel in front, but it seems sturdy enough to use without it collapsing. At least it didn't for me. It does have an annoying habit of needing to repeat pressing a menu item here and there, but I can live with that.It has a foot print of 14 1/2 X 14 1/2" with paper tray out, and 5 1/2" high. Not real small, but not huge either.

Best PHOTO printer in the world!
I have owned MANY printers -- inkjet and laser printers over the years. The previous one before this (purchased about 8 months ago) was a higher end HP printer which i replaced with this one since the cost of the printer with FULL set of inks were cheaper than the HP ink, but I also had another agenda -- with a baby on the way I wanted to print more photos. I have printed photos with all of my printers before with good success and in a frame on the wall you usually cannot tell its from an inkjet unless you look really close.Well - THAT HAS CHANGED! I am BLOWN away by the print quality of photos on this printer! I started out printing using all of the 'sample' 4x6 that comes with so many printers... i was so impressed i have bought photo paper in various sizes. I CANNOT tell the difference between the printouts and something from an expensive camera that was processed professionally. I just printed my first BORDERLESS less 8.5 x 11 and OMG its beautiful!!! -> it was a picture taken in HDR from my older iphone 6 !!!I researched ahead of time for a printer capable of 'good' photo printing -- what I got was a mega affordable AWESOME photo printer with a full set of ink!I will NEVER buy HP again - did you know all of their printers only come with 'sample' ink (meaning not very much ink at all) and this guy comes fully loaded with full cartridges?TIPS:- Install the latest drivers, i had better print qualities instead of using the default windows 10 driver- use 'My Image Garden' software they provide to print photos --- works great!- when you use the paper 'tray' for first time you have to expand it to fit 8.5 x 11 paper (i thought it was too short at first)- put all photo paper in back loading tray and specify in the printer UI the type/sizePros:- OMG photo quality- FAST printing of photosCons:- Feels cheap (button presses, opening the front to allow paper to come out after print, etc.)- Initial setup made no sense (bad documentation/instructions)

Fantastic print quality but not as compact of a footprint as you are lead to believe
As a balnce between price and print quality, this printer is well worth it. I knocked off a star due to mis-leading use of the term "Compact Size" and the lackluster apps that Canon produced for this printer. I owned a Canon printer many years ago, but have been on the HP band-wagon for the last several years. Gave up on HP after purchasing a HP Envy 4520. The HP produced what was at best fuzzy/blurred print out. Purchase this Canon TS6020 to replace the HP.Now let's focus on the Canon TS6020:- "COMPACT SIZE" is a relative term. Take into account that in addition to the base dimensions a) the paper feeder tray sticks out 1 5/8" after installation of Letter size paper; b) the Control panel sticks out 3 1/4" if lifted to the angle by which you can look straight down at it when standing; c) the Photo paper tray at the rear of the printer sticks out 4 5/8" when in use. Now remember, you still have a print catch arm at the front that sticks out 8 3/4" when in use.- CONTROL PANEL: easy to read, full qwerty keyboard layout (for input of passcodes, etc..), clear font (not fuzzy looking). The only issues I have with the control panel is a) the "ok" button during setup took a little extra time to register (it was like the printer needed to finish some background operation before accepting the input of pressing "ok"); b) the control panel moves in an upward direction. This makes it easier to read/operate when printer is set at desk level and you are standing. However, you tend to hold the panel with one hand and operate it with the other hand as the panel gives/flexes/bounces during use.- APPS: took some getting use to as the apps are by no means intuitive. Some control features (especially when scanning) are obscure or missing.- SETUP: while setup took awhile, I found it fairly easy and followed the instructions with no issues. Setup of wireless capability was really easy (and yes, I am running latest 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Modem). AirPrint from Apple product works flawlessly. Android works flawlessly. Windows 10 and RT work great. What I cannot get to work is printing from a Windows 10 mobile devise.

Poor delivery quality, but good product
Delivered on time, but it was not delivered in a working condition.Reasons I deducted two stars was the printer did not work when it arrived. I had to try and figure out what the error was. Followed all the prompts as provided, but the online screen kept showing an error. Following my own investigation, I found that one of the cables was not fitted to one of the inner wheels on the printer. It took almost 2 hours to fit it back on. After 2 hours of frustration and irritation, it was on.Printer is quick, efficient and happy with the product.I would have like to keep the panel down in order to be able to print, but this info can be supplied to the technicians/ brand owners to support in new product enhancements.

Excellent print, poor build quality
The most important thing is this printer has amazing print quality. However the plastic is thin, flimsy and ergonomics could be much better. WiFi printing works great. This is a great printer for light home use.
