A slice was taken from the geode, electroplated with gold or silver, following the natural edge of the stone, and polished on both sides.(It is 24k gold or silver plated, but in extremely tiny quantities, with other metals, just enough to give the color.) Some have tiny druze (a very thin crystal covering), others with more visible crystal structures, and surrounded by agate. Sizes vary, on average, between about 1" to 2" long excluding the earwire, and about 5 mm thick.
