0.6 Gallon (74 oz) Reusable Silicone Kitchen Bags Freeze Heat Microwave Steam Store Sous Vide

I bought this for sous vide, specifically for large cuts of meat. It was just too small for an entire leg of lamb, but perfect for a half a leg. Contrary to other reviews, I found this bag really nice in terms of getting the extra air out of the bag. I put in the ingredients, close the top without the white leak-proof seal, and then push all the air out. That holds pretty well, and then I add the white seal. I find this much easier than ziploc bags.I also bought a smaller one for smaller items. I can see how other people would not find this useful for less food. For my purposes, I tend to do several pounds of food at a time (I'm lazy, and want to get it done quickly), so perfect for my needs.The only thing I don't like about it is common to silicone; it doesn't wash that easily.But given how much I like my sous vide, and how unenthusiastic about plastic bags holding up to those temperatures, it's a small price to pay.

I'm just as saddened as everyone that Ziploc no longer makes microwave steamer bags. I read reviews about silicone steamer bags and figured I'd give it a try since not producing more waste is a goal of mine nowadays. To my surprise, I was not disappointed. I treated the silicone bag just as it was a Ziploc bag (using Ziploc's time table for cooking) and everything has turned out fantastic. You do have to be very careful when you go to open/unhook the blue steamer clip as steam instantly comes out of it where it clips open and it's HOT - remember to open it AWAY from you. I like that it's easy to clean and doesn't take up much storage room. I have zero complaints.

I have had these bags for several years, 3 sandwich and one large. They are easy to clean/store, and way less expensive over time than plastic ziplock bags. The smaller bags have a great, durable slide closure, the larger is a snap closure that can be a little more challenging....My only concern is that my large bag closure broke recently and I am unable to find replacement parts online, and it has been 2 weeks since I emailed customer service and I haven't received instruction on how to replace the bag closure.Once this issue is resolved I do plan on ordering more large ones.

I originally bought this for my husband to put lunch items in, but it was way too big for his small cooler. Next I planned to use it for freezing various food items. After 5 months use one of the snaps on the clamp broke off. The bag itself is heavy duty and seems like it would do well in the freezer. I just wish it wasn’t so hard to close it up. I don’t plan to purchase another one due to the this difficulty.

I purchased so I could eliminate purchasing expensive non-reusable bags. This bag works perfectly. So far I’ve only used it to steam vegetables, which it does to my satisfaction. Easy to clean, set up & use.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this specifically because I needed a leak proof bag. I put it in the fridge & it leaked all over the place.The bag itself doesn't seal, the clip is what seals it & is a pain to put on with the bag even close to full. The extra piece to make it leak proof is nothing more than a piece to pinch the middle of the main clip. If the bag itself sealed (like ziplocks) with the clip holding the seal close I think it would work much better.I filled it with water over the sink just to make sure I didn't seal it wrong or something when I first used it. It leaked out of both corners as soon as I turned it over.

I bought this bag for doing sous vide, and I'm not sure it was what I wanted. The sides are very thick, and it has a flat bottom. Because of this, it makes it very hard for the bag to actually conform to the shape of whatever you put into it (in my case, ribeye steak). This means that its contents won't get uniform exposure to the surrounding heat. Also, if you aren't able to get all the air out, it will float when you try to submerge it. Results might be different depending on what your try to cook in it, but for basic cuts of meat, it is not well suited to the task. I'll probably keep it, but i'm guessing it'll be more useful to me for freezing things after cooking, instead of doing the cooking itself.EDIT: Okay, I think I have figured out what this is good for. You can use it for sous vide, but only for larger-sized cuts of meat. The cut needs to be large enough to fill the entire bottom of the bag, getting into all of the corners. That way, you can squish it down while you try your best to squeeze out all of the air from the top, which is not easy. You probably won't be able to get all of it out, however leaving some space should be ok, because as the meat cooks, the liquid it releases should be able to take up the space. I tried a 2.5lb tri tip (132F @ 4hrs), and it worked out ok. Still not as easy as a ziploc, but it does work.

I use this all the time to steam broccoli and cauliflower. Works so good! Easy to use. Easy to clean. Cheaper than buying steam bags all the time

Very useful. I made meals for my dog--put a chicken breast and some veg in the bag, gave them a whirl in the microwave and then when they'd cooled, stashed them in the freezer. Then all I did was take out a bag every evening in preparation for the next-day's meal. They'd do the same thing for humans as well, of course.

I'd used one bag twice in the sous vide and it was fine. The next time I reused the 1st bag and a new bag - which leaked and we had to put contents in another bag due to the inside valve falling off in the food! The valve on second bag had a crease in it and lost its suction, so just had to used the displacement method for the remaining 7hrs cooking.

Love this product! The bag is large and great for storing! I've removed an single use plastics in my home, and this is fab!

I used the bag in my microwave no problem ,the problem arose when I used the bag and clip in the oven the bag top flopped over and the clip touch the racking side and melted the oven temp was 180 so it should not of melted according to the instuctions .I now have to struggle to get the rest of the plastic off my oven which will be difficult due to having bad hips
