Very comfortable, both under or over my riding breeches. I bought this product to use while horseback riding, and preferred it to many other products because it is less bulky and does not interfere with my riding. Thankfully, I have not fallen from my horse so I cannot comment on how much protection it provides, but I feel more confident when riding.
