Pinwheel Designs Coloring Book (Dover Design Coloring Books) Paperback – October 19, 2007

Some really intricate designs in this one. I love that some of these will take at least an hour to complete. The only thing I found disappointing was that some of the designs were so similar to others in the book. You'd have to make sure to do those several days apart so you don't get bored. Otherwise, it's a great book. The paper is nice and thick and should hold up well to colored pencils. I wouldn't recommend using markers unless you choose to only color one side of the sheet as these are double sided.

Quite interesting. Lots of diverse patterns to choose from. Almost dizzy making! haha. Patterns are printed on both sides of the page, which is a downside. But, with the attractive low price, you could just order a 2nd book. About the designs...I'm no artist and have actually feared ruining an otherwise potentially beautiful page, but with these patterns I really doubt that's possible. The patterns almost force you to place your variety of colors in such a way that you can't possibly go wrong, and will probably surprise yourself! I'm really looking forward to looking like an "artist" - haha.

You are getting 3/4 page pictures to color. The pictures are a nice square or circle design, not rectangles. So they do not take up the whole page. The lines are dark and clear. The pictures are front and back so if you want to display them you will have to pick a side you like best. The pictures are not complicated, simple and cool looking. I have bought several books at the same time, GREAT books to color. I will be outside coloring while my husband does his back-yard archery lol, great way to spend the evening together while doing our own things also. I am using FANTASIA coloring pencils set of 36.

This is one of the better teen to adult coloring books, but I have to say, I enjoy it most for the ideas that I develop using color patterns and designs with my own art (mosaics, jewelry, painting, collage, felting). When I received this book, I had to immediately try one with a color pattern that "spoke" to me. I also had to select two more with two other color selections specifically fitting the design. I have to say that the artist, Wil Stegenga, has provided some of the better coloring/art pattern books with a modern flair that I like. PS: Recommend you use hard to medium colored pencils to adequately fill the images. Larger and softer pencils may work for some images, but for details the other type of pencils work best (e.g. Primacolor Verithin pencils).

I bought this and a couple other coloring books and love them all, but especially this one. I haven't colored all the pictures yet, but the ones I have all look awesome, though the ones in this one can be a tad more difficult to color than most, but once you get used to it it's fine. You can't color these with crayons or markers, obviously, but I've found that gel pens and a few colored pencils will do the trick marvelously, so that shouldn't be much of a turn off. My whole family loves them and my mom brothers even colored a couple of these, so it definitely helps keep a person busy. If you're thinking of buying this, just go for it; it's definitely worth the four dollars.

This was my first "adult" coloring book. Pretty good. Mostly had pictures I liked coloring, but a few that did not "speak" to me. My second book, "Adult Coloring Book: Stress Relieving Patterns" was a bit better- more varied styles to color. Plus pics on only one side of pages so no color pencil transfer to the next page when coloring on one side of the page.

An ok book. Out of 10 that i purchased i think this is my least liked. The designs are printed on both pages, so markers or even gel pens might be out of the questions - they might bleed through. I made copies of all the "back page" designs, so i can color with markers/gel pens. As for the designs - some of them have lines that are not connecting with each other, leaving open spaces where the colors could end. For some reason this lack of designed color "blocks" annoys me a lot!

I bought this on a whim & I LOVE this little book!! I am an adult who likes to color!! :) Most of the designs are detailed, so I would recommend it to an older child or an adult! (This one requires a bit of patience) The other thing I would recommend is that you copy each individual page before you color any of the pages! It has 25 pages & after using markers to color I was unable to use the design on the other side, the markers bleed through. I wish I would have made copies first! These pinwheel designs are...FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

Good quality bright white paper; printed on both sides of page (not an issue for my pencil crayons). Not exactly what I expected, as cover shows the entire page area filled. In reality, the pages inside have designs (some circular, some square) centered on the page, so there is lots of wasted white space. I expect that with mandala books, but not with one showing a cover like this. Still, a good balance of easy to more complex designs. I do like Wil Stegenga's designs, so gave it 4 stars (but really feel is is more a 3.5).

I'm not very impressed with this coloring book. It looks equivalent to something you'd find in a dollar store. The image on the page also only takes up maybe 3/4 of the page. There's a 2-3 inch blank space at the top and bottom of each page. The book I received was also quite bent out of shape when I received it because it was put in box that wasn't wide enough and there were other heavier items in with it.

La belle couverture aux motifs dynamiques ne représente vraiment pas le contenu. Les imprimés ne sons pas finis, les motifs sont vraiment plates (genre plein de pétales ovales), le papier est poche et on voit chaque trait de crayon. Je donne deux étoiles car, au moins, les lignes n'étaient pas pixelisées.

I looked all over for a colouring book for adults to enable a happy balance of creativity without a ton of supplies or time. I love that I can just colour for 20 minutes or for an hour and then come back to it. I am going to have colouring page parties to invite friends over to use the books, have a few nibblles and drinks and socialize while doing something so commonly reserved for kids!

Hier handelt es sich zwar um Kreise bzw. Quadrate, doch die Motive wurden nicht dementsprechend entwickelt. Auf irgendwelche willkuerliche Motive wurde eine Kreis- oder Quadratschablone gelegt. Für mich grenz das in Verbindung mit dem Titel an Betrug.
