an easily read version of a Victorian tale of virtue. No graphics to distract so very affordable. It was a print to order version and well produced.

This 19th century children's tale is both enchanting and funny and is now issued with magical illustrations by the Irish artist P.J. Lynch. Some editions provide a DVD where Lynch explains how he designs and produces the illustrations for a book, accompanied by an attractive musical score. Our sons are fascinated by the creation of the "dragon and baby in the cave" picture shown on this. And the book itself is one for parents and children to keep and treasure.

I really don't like writing bad reviews, but the way this book was edited was shocking. Every page was filled with typos or weird things that made it just too hard to read and enjoy. I sent it back. And don't expect any pictures in the book. But really, even pictures wouldn't have helped with the huge amount of problems with the text! :-\

This book was simply wonderful. I, as an artist, am always looking for references and inspiration and let me tell you, this book did wonders for me. The story is beautiful and the illustrations are vivid and imaginative. The free dvd is also a treasure. Behind the scenes with PJ Lynch takes you to a world that will blow you away. You won't regret buying this book :)
