All things considered, this thing works great. It seamlessly meshed with my AC-PRO with a whopping near-gigabit wireless connection. Amazing.The cons:2. It’s much bigger than expected. I should have double-checked the dimensions.2. Only omnidirectional. You can’t add a directional antenna like the normal AC-M model.3. The reset button broke off inside the enclosure and the enclosure is sealed shut.4. The secondary port doesn’t provide POE5. Can’t disable data on the main port so it only accepts POE.The Pros:1. It’s fast... 400Mbps fast2. Good range. Decent signal (50dbi) at 75ft with clear LOS3. Easy setup with auto-meshing capability.4. It’s waterproof!5. It will join together two wired networks if it wirelessly bridges to another AP.Overall, I love my bulky outdoor AP and so do my neighbors. My neighbors can’t afford to pay for high-end wireless gear to improve their wireless coverage. This allows me to share my high speed data with them without any significant impact to my user experience.

Like much of the Ubiquiti line, this is a solid performer and well worth the investment. There are a few "gotchas" to be aware though. First, the antenna pattern is primarily toroidal; this means that it is designed to be installed at approx 6-8 feet, not necessarily on a high pole. The higher you mount it, the bigger "doughnut" of no coverage you will have under it. I have mine mounted approx. 16 feet above ground, and have probably a 40 foot ring of poor coverage immediately under/surrounding it, which is covered by a different access point. In my installation, I have a solid signal four to five hundred feet away in the real world, as long as there is no substantial vegetation in the way. One issue with wifi is that the signal is blocked by vegetation, so you may lose some range depending on your terrain and vegetation.Managing the access point is simple. Power it up, adopt it into your Unifi network and complete any additional setup you may desire, such as adjusting radio power levels and band steering. If you have never worked with Ubiquiti equipment, it may take you a little longer - it's near-enterprise grade/enterprise grade equipment, and assumes that you know at least a little about networking. Don't let this scare you away - the forums are excellent and help is always only a post/email/phone call away.

I'm very happy with this latest addition to my Ubiquiti home setup. It rounds out my installation by providing solid and reliable wifi in my backyard. If you have never owned a Ubiquiti/Unifi system it probably takes some instructions on setup etc but once you have worked with it you will never use another brand. For me this Access Point was simply plug and play as I already own other Ubiquiti equipment and already have a network running that it could just be adopted into. We own and operate a lodging business in the Sierra foothills and we have multiple cabins that are spaced out around our acreage and so we need reliable wifi for our guests without any hassle. Once you have this installed you have full control over how you want your wifi to work. I give Ubiquiti 5 stars...

I use Ubiquiti products at home and my business. They work fantastic. 2600 sq ft home had 4 apple airport extremes and now just one Ubiquiti AP and it's faster. So above product I was trying to provide good wireless inside a building that is just over 100' away. Doesn't really work. I mounted the AP outdoors about 8' in the air. Inside the building 100" away the signal is weak and not enough to stream 4k. I was hoping for better. The signal only had to go through one thin wall. So if you plan anything like what I was doing it may not work. Ubiquiti products are amazing easy to set up for someone with limited IT experience. The free Controller software has been easy to use and is rock solid. So if your looking for enterprise reliability without breaking the bank Ubi is it.

We've been using the OpenMesh line of products for years, but lamented over poor performance, lack of IPv6 support, and other issues.Deploying Ubiquiti products has proven far less complicated, with much better performance and network accessibility/range than we ever expected. IPv6 support was of-course functional right out of the box.In one example, we were still configuring a UAP prior to mounting, but decided on an ad-hoc test anyways. With OpenMesh we basically couldn't get a signal to travel much further past one exterior wall. With the UAP-AC-M-PRO-US, the signal not only traveled strongly through the wall, we were able to maintain mobile device connectivity upwards of 1,000ft away across a wooded field.Pairing the UAP-AC-M-US has also significantly impressed us. Again, with the OpenMesh line of products we couldn't even establish a mesh at 5Ghz (equipment doesn't support it), packet loss was high, and latency would readily spike into the triple digits. While the Ubiquiti equipment not only meshes at 5Ghz, there's effectively zero packet loss, and we're able to push data at full wireless mesh speed. We're profoundly impressed with this product line and its feature-set.

It was a replacement for my Netgear repeaters / mesh. I was tired of constantly rebooting a Netgear Nighthawk X10, then going around the house rebooting the AD7200 repeaters. I wasn't sure if I was colliding with neighbors or if someone was hacking my WIFi. So, I replaced everything in the house with Ubiquiti. Best decision I made! I was a very quick setup. The signal strength and coverage has been close to flawless. I can easily see which devices are connected to which AP. The adopt, provision and update process took about 10-15 minutes to complete. The newer software incorporates a beta version of the uplink function. It will automatically uplink to the AP is has the strongest connection with. You can still manually link it, but I just left it alone and it still provides excellent throughput.

Very happy with the range on this, and reasonably happy with the speed. I've been able to get about 300 Mb down on it - sees to not go much faster than that for any individual device, but it can do that on 2-3 devices at a time.I wish there was an option to add an extra directional antenna for wireless uplink, though - my non-pro mesh is far enough away that the 5ghz network is around 35% so people connecting to that one max out around 50-60 down, which isn't that much faster than they'd get on the 2.4 band of the pro at the same distance (35-40)Setup was a bit of a mess, the iPhone app for standalone setup isn't quite there yet (they did quickly fix the very irritating iPhone app bug I encountered and reported, though - editing the 2.4 network would change the network name to the password(!!!). Patch went out less than a week after I reported it). I just installed the controller software and used that instead, its how they're intended to work, and it was pretty effortless.

I have the Flex, the M and the M-PRO. All good but the M-PRO kills them all for outside coverage with a combination of higher power and more dBi on the antenna.

The only complain I have about this is its overly sized, not easy to fix on wall. Gone through lot of troubles to fix it

Great coverage and connection. Replaced a EAP110-outdoor which kept disconnecting and the UAP-AC-M-Pro has two gigabit ports for bridging.

Little more money than I'd like to spend, but the product is great and I have nothing but positive things to say about these. Just be great if they were a bit more affordable
