I was always really into cooking, but when I had brain surgery, I had to learn it all over again. All the culinary texts books I had were too advanced me me to just jump right into. I keep this book by my stove, because my memory has gotten to be lacking. I love how simple and clear cut this book is without talking down as if you are mentally lacking. This would be a great gift for a young adult with an interest in cooking, a teen going away to college, or anyone who has moved away from home, and suddenly realizes that they have no idea what they are doing.
