Works pretty well. The hose is heavy and stiff, though. I'm 73 so it's a bit of a challenge to pull out, set the brake, and retract. It does all those things smoothly , but kind of hard for me. Be sure you have a good place to mount this where it won't damage plants while it's being moved around. Remember, it's suspended in the air, not laying on the ground. I don't have an optimal place to hang it unfortunately, so I have to watch where the hose is.I do appreciate the length and the sprayer is one of the best designs I've ever used. Easy for one handed operation.I'm satisfied with my purchase, but wish I was stronger to use it.

The hose does not easily extract back in its case. Sometimes you have to pull the hose all the way out in order to retract all the way back in. It takes multiple tries.

This product is a piece of junk I bought the 75’ 5/8 and it does not work the way it is supposed to I pull it out about 10-15 feet and when I’m done I turn off the water and wait a few minutes for the water to drain out then when I pull it to retract it only retract a few feet and not all the way in I pull it again and it does nothing I then try to feed it in by hand and still nothing for those of you who are thinking about buying this product I would not recommend it at all.

We recently moved into a new home in Florida and after doing so I wanted a hose solution that would keep the hose out of the way, yet accessible for filling the pool and watering the plants in our backyard. This has worked absolutely perfectly.I have had this in daily use for 5 months with absolutely no issues whatsoever.Installation is straightforward though I recommend having 2 people to accomplish it with greater ease. I mounted this on to a stucco wall which required holding it in place, marking the mounting holes, drilling with a masonry bit and then mounting with the included bolts. Holding it in place and making sure it is level is the most difficult part as long as you have a ratchet that or impact drill that will reach around the reel to attach the bolts. Installation required approximately 30 minutes, though I never rush.This reel operates as most retractable systems do - pullout to desired length, when you wish to retract, give a quick tug and the mechanism begins retracting.Unlike many similar sets that include a cheap spray head that ends up being tossed when it breaks after a week, the one included with this set is excellent.After using this product for 5 months, here are a few tips I have learned that will be sure to save you a bit of time.* Turn on the hose with the spray head closed when extending the hose from the reel. This will aid in the hose unreeling more easily.* Extend to the full desired length that you will need as you start to prevent having to tug on the hose as you water as it will continue to want to reel itself back in.* When finished using the hose leave spray head valve open and turn off water at hose spigot which will empty the hose, making it lighter and far easier to retract and reel in.* It is worth the minimal added time to stand at the reel as the hose is retracted in order to guide it in at a reasonable rate. The reel can tend to reel too quickly if there is slack in the hose which can lead to kinking, making the next use more difficult.This has been an absolutely outstanding garden accessory. The hose diameter of 5/8” carries a good amount of water while still maintaining high pressure. The 75 foot length allows for reaching all of the areas necessary within our backyard. This product is well made, dependable and looks great.This is definitely a product I highly recommend.

We've been using a metal hose holder/hanger for our front garden hose and it's kind of a pain to be taking it on and off, so I thought this would be a much better way to go. We use the front hose the most often, and this should make it easier and more enjoyable to use.The unit is good looking and made pretty well. Seems quite sturdy and durable. It swivels on the bracket nice and smoothly. Install was simple, I only used 2 of the 4 included lag bolts, all I think it needs, holds it well. Drilled holes and drive the lags with my impact wrench. I do wish the hanger bracket was removable for mounting, I tried but does not come off as far as I can tell. Be nice to be able to mount the bracket, get to the bolts easier, then put the hose reel on.Reel works very well so far, pulls out smoothly and stops with a little tug, reels back in as it should. I like all of that.Only concern about this unit is the hose in the reel itself. Out of the box, it's already kind of kinked or smashed, though not damaged. Hose seems like it might be on the lower quality side. It is suppose to be PVC and looks a little braided, so maybe I don't have anything to worry about. But, the hose is stiff, one thing I don't like. Might be more a personal preference. Going to be a little more wild to handle.Overall, it is a good reel and if you don't mind a stiffer hose, I would recommend.

I'm not quite sure what makes this one a better fit for me, but it seems the hose and it's mechanism is more...robust? I still ended up giving this one four stars because the makers didn't think twice about a 5-foot attachment hose when not everybody can mount this within 5 feet of the spigot! In fact, I mounted this one on the corner 4x4 patio post and lucky for me, I had a 25 foot stainless steel hose that could run from the spigot to this hose reel. I live in an older, metal sided mobile home and surely would NOT want this reel mounted on the outside of my house near the spigot that is actually on the ground since it is supplied by the park I live in...so please, people who design these things, think about the other 25% of people who don't live like you do! Just take some time to think about ways to make this reel easier for others to mount easily and use even if it's not within 5 feet of the spigot! But I have to say that this reel's hose took a bit the first time I pulled it out - I didn't yank but supplied firm pressure to get it to pull out and then I did a test of how hard to pull to get the hose to retract, but it is working well and I am pleased with it.
