Creative Playthings Telephone

Purchased this item as an addition to the accessories in my daughters outdoor play tower. She loves having faux conversations with people on a cell phone, so I figured she would enjoy pretending to make calls to grandma and mommy from her play set. I was right, she's a big fan of this accessory. Mounts easily with one screw, so be careful not to over-torque, as it utilizes a rubber grommet to mount (which quickly and easily becomes destroyed if you use a power drill...so best bet is to just use a plain old Philips screwdriver instead). Other than that, super easy and quick installation. Seems decent but not of the best quality, should last a season or two. The only concern, for me at least, would be that the phone "walks away" from it's base given that it does not have a cord. Other reviewers have noted their discontent for this omission. However, I could see the cord becoming a potentially serious/fatal safety issue when used in a play set. Usually, play telephones have very short cords anyways, and this would cause problems with usability depending on how/where its mounted. Additionally, the presence of any cord also contributes to a significant risk of strangulation when used on outdoor play sets, especially when mounted on a raised tower deck that is 5ft or more off the ground. Overall, I feel that this is a good product that goes well with any child's outdoor play set.

For a kids play phone I guess this works - we ordered this for our swing set clubhouse outside and installed it inside the house part. My kids love playing with it and so far it has held up OK. My biggest complaint about the phone is the way that it is affixed to the clubhouse -- they provide a single screw to be inserted into the top of the phone base. I wish that it came with 2 pre-drilled holes and two screws so that the phone base was more secure on the wall. As it is right now, the phone base "swings" and is constantly off kilter or moving around making it difficult for toddlers to hang the phone up. My guess is that you could probably drill a second hole yourself, we just having done so yet.

Cheaper plastic than I imagine but it serves its purpose kids love it !

after a one year use, the screw that holds the base onto the wooden outdoor playset cracked the plastic and now we can't hang the phone. my kids still use the phone without the base. probably will end up buying another one soon since it's not expensive and my kids love playing with it!

Perfect phone for our swingset clubhouse! Kids love it which makes mom happy, so for me that's a win! Phone doesn't make sound, which for me is also a win! Buttons push and make a click, phone is a good size so it hopefully won't get lost in the yard, and it's yellow.. which hopefully will also make it easy to find when it's gone missing for its location in the clubhouse. Worth the money and seems like great quality!

Bought this for my parents swing set for my daughter. It was easy to install and works well. I did read some of the reviews that say it gets worn fast but we did install in where it wouldn't get wet often and haven't had any issues thus far.

Great phone for play. We have installed outside and it has held up well. Buttons make noises which my toddler loves.
