Great Cooperative game but lack of balance when playing with fewer players.
Bought this game after looking through several game-play tutorials, and have to say i'm having a blast.Pros1. Cooperative game play that encourages players to thinking and play strategically2. Artwork is very distinctive and balance of Character effects are very well balanced3. Discounted price of $35 is an actually steal right not given the current content of this game brings.4. Great for players who like to play rpg centered card games.5. Quality of these cards have a great feel to them (i would still suggest standard clear sleeves though)Cons1. Takes a lot of time to learn the game, and Manual for the game is quite vague in certain areas.2. Difficulty is a tad high but not highly insurmountable, however when playing 2 players the game can be quite overwhelming. ( lack of balance when playing with 2-3 players)3. Perhaps not a great party game for players who do not have the patience to learn the game mechanics. Since there is a bit of a learning curve. ( I have experience with games like this, and still took me some time to adjust)4. Characters cards are oversized so finding sleeves is an inherent issue.

Not the deck-builder you expect, but the adventure you deserve.
Bought this for a friend and played all through the week between Christmas and New Year's. Don't expect to pick it up and win easily, even the scenarios marked "easy" or only so when compared to the others.I'll admit, I already loved Red Dragon Inn, so the setting and characters already had me loving this game, but on its own the game still holds up as a great time.First, let's get to the elephant in the room. It's labeled as a deck building game, which it technically is. But, your ending deck won't differ from your starting deck the way it will in Dominion or Star Realms. The opportunities to remove beginner cards from the game are there, but they don't come up often.Besides that little clarification, what is described is what you should expect; a high fantasy cooperative card game with elements of role-playing and deck-building stirred in.After our epic 5-player, 3.5 hour adventures we preferred to wrap the night up with a round or two of RDI.

Rules may need a revision for clarity.
Some of the rules were difficult to understand at first. We stumbled through a two-player game and watched videos on YouTube to grasp the nuances. Fun game, but not as satisfying an experience as Red Dragon Inn.

my boys love it
Great game. It's fun and easy to play once you learn how to set it up. Set up can take a while but it's fun.

Complicated but awesome!
This game is really cool. It's a little complicated to set up and learn the order of play for the first few times you play it but once we figured out some of the finer details and started playing, we really got into it. It pairs nicely with the rest of the Red Dragon Inn games if you want to make a night of it but it's also a pretty strong stand-alone game night option - some rounds can last upwards of 45 minutes with more than 2 players. I recommend only playing with 2-3 people until you really have the rules and play order down, but after that, trying it with 5 players is intense.

Such a great game !!
As deck builders go, this one is on the top of my play list at the moment ! 361 absolutely gorgeous quality cards and a system which is developed to highlight the strategy aspect. Your heroes ramp up quickly in a consistent relationship with the monsters you encounter. Overall great balance but certainly not an easy win. Easy to hard scenario levels! The game is advertised as 2-4 players, but as it is a co-op deck builder, it is equally as good playing solo. I've played three games thus far...one nailbiter, one game I was crushed, and one game I was the crusher.

Great Party Game!
Played a single game with a friend and I knew I had to have it in my collection! Very easy to learn, which is a bonus! Get it and play it with your friends!

Quick to understand and play, fun to co operatively take down the Boss monster
Very fun Deck building card game. The cards and art are beautiful and the game system is interesting. Highly recommend getting the updated Intro scenario on Slugfest website, as they have made it much more fun and manageable. I look forward to expansions with more bosses, player heroes and scenarios.
