Works great
The Total Control 1/2 x 1/8 Black Hi Temp BBQ smoker Gasket is a nice quality gasket to help seal up a BBQ grill or as a replacement gasket for a smoker. The material is felt like and it's adhesive seems to work securely when placed. I've used this to help seal up a charcoal BBQ grill whose lid is completely metal to metal contact. The gasket has successfully sealed up the grill leaving only minimal smoke to escape.I would make sure that the surface is completely clean to ensure good adhesion. I recommend placing on the grill when new or close to it as any build up is difficult to remove. Overall, works great!

Highly recommended!
No issues with the adhesive, as per some of the other reviews. Seems to be holding up really well, even with the high temps of the fire box. Had just enough to seal both doors, between the firebox and the cooking chamber, and also between the top and bottom of the firebox on my smoker. My only complaint is how fiddly it is to peel the back off the gasket - will definitely purchase again (if I even need to).

Sealed up the Weber kettle
It worked to seal up my 22" weber kettle that is a little warped and 10 years old.Makes it easier to keep a steady temp when smoking meat on it.

Sealed my smoker
I read the reviews just like you are doing now. It does stick very well and works very well...if you do it right from the start. Don't get in a hurry, slap it on and go smoking. Clean your area first!! I used another way to seal the smoker and it did not work. So mine is 2 years old and been used a lot! So I took blue dawn and a green scratch pad and cleaned the lip areas and cleaned and cleaned and cleaned. You are getting my point. I let it dry completely...for hours! Once completely clean and dried I applied the seal. I only cut through the seal not the plastic. I unrolled short sections and applied apx 6 inches at a time to make sure it was straight. I waited 24 hrs to cure and MAGIC. My smoker door and fire box door leaks no smoke. You get in a hurry and don't clean properly you will be disappointed. Do it right the first time and you won't have to do it again. If it's a brand new smoker you are ahead of the ball game.
