Easy to install, fun gadget.
I’m a fan of gadgets and I came across this OHD unit for $50 and figured I’ll give it a try. I have a 2014 Subaru Forester and the installation was a breeze. Just plug into the OBD2 which was right under the dash on the driver’s side and use the manual to set up miles vs kilometers. There are some info displayed here not necessarily needed for your average drivers but it looks cool, the display is clear and it’s nice not to have to look down. I’m a fan of this and would recommend it.

Overall great, some unfortunate design decisions
I really like this unit. Clear, powerful LEDs make the lettering very visible, even in full daylight. I the menus are easy to operate, and there are some options as to what can be displayed. I've only had a few minor disappointments:1. There are three full digits for the "Full Consumption" indicator, so it could display up to 99.9L/100km, but it caps at 19.9 for no good reason. Note that this is the *immediate* full consumption as read by over OBD2, it updates every second; it is not a "average over the last 10km" or so, so when you get up in 1st at a red light, it goes to 19.9 and stays there for like 4-5 seconds. There's no reason the firmware couldn't go above 19.9 since the "88.8" LED lights are all there.2. Although there is a setting to manually adjust for a discrepancy between the actual fuel consumption and the one that's displayed, it doesn't go nearly high enough. If reset my car's counter and drive 5km on a flat road at a constant speed, I get an accurate reading from the car itself (8.0L/km), but even maxing out the "adjustment factor" on the unit, the HUD will not display more than 5.6L/100km. Disappointing.3. There's light leaking out on all sides of this unit, which is especially annoying for the driver at night, as you don't only see the desired visual on the windshield, you also have these bright lights in your eyes lower, on the top of the dashboard. And anyone standing outside can see this bright display as well. My solution was to build a custom shade visor "box", see pictures. Would be great if the unit shipped with one.

Inaccurate, requires manual turn off
The biggest shortcoming of this HUD is that it's simply inaccurate. It is anywhere from 2 to 6 mph higher than what the car's actual speed (and speed displayed on the digital speed reading as well as the speedometer gauge). I really don't understand how that can be, considering the data should be getting pulled from the OBD2 port, and my head unit that can also pull data from the OBD2 port display perfectly accurate speed data. Looking in the manual, it has a way to change the offset because the manual claims cars come displaying higher speed on the instrument cluster than the actual speed (sounds like bs to me lol). But even adjusting their offset it's impossible to get it exactly right because of the fact that the speed difference is variable. At 55 mph it shows 60 mph, but at 30 it shows 32.Another big problem with this device, you have to manually turn it off. Even though it's pulling power from the OBD2 port, at least in my car, for some reason it is powered on all the time and not just when the car is on. I'm fairly positive the OBD2 has pins that are only powered when the car is on, so it should not be impossible to have this device power on only when those pins have power. Again, the manual claims there are settings to adjust auto on and off based on voltage detected, but I tried adjusting it and it did not make a difference. This in itself makes this device unusable for me as I do not want a device plugged in that can kill my battery if I forget to turn it off.Another downside that I didn't catch before ordering this device, it only displays in Liters, not Gallons for the fuel gauge.Lastly, this thing gets really really hot. It doesn't help that it's just sitting in direct sunlight under a windshield, but the device itself seems to get quite hot just running. I can't imagine the electronics in this thing are going to stand up to these temperatures long term. I used an little IR temperature gauge and it read the back of the device at 135 F (this is the back of the device that was on the dash, so not even the side of it facing the windshield).Otherwise, the device does work as a HUD on the windshield to display MPH and such. Even in bright daylight there is no issue seeing the numbers. The focus is less than desirable, but it's readable. It also would have been very beneficial if they would have provide some kind of hood for the device so that you can't see it as well as the reflection.

Great product loving it
Great little product does what it says it does. Very bright and works very well. Only complaints are the gas milage is only in Kh or liters us stupid Americans can't read that or convert in our head to metric. Also be careful if you have tinted windows the light sensor will not work. My front window is tinted 30% and even during the day the device thinks it's night and sets to the lowest brightness. There is an override to set it to max brightness but when it's night it will blind you so you have to change it manually. However, I have to say this is an amazing little product. Ignore comments about speed being off all you have to do is adjust the speed settings and it will be dead on.
