Seatek beats the box store names
This is a small company, and produces not inly quality, but ingenious new designs for cable cutting, stripping, and sheathing. Each order comes with there new items flier, which is full of great ideas. They dont sell direct, at least to the average consumer, however they do a great job on their website linking Amazon and Ebay to their respective product pages...sort of like having an in-promptu catalog without having a catalog...another great idea.I dont know the people at this company, but some of the brightest designs, ideas, and clever marketing comes out if Seatek. That tells me that the people their are not only smart, but care.Regarding the RS-101AC...I wish i had waiting in hindsight and gone onto the website. they have a MC/BX combination model, as well as drill-driven units. Not to say that the RS-101AC is not a great device, but for 15.00 - 20.00 more i could have automated, or purchased the combo unit.Summary - The RS-101AC is a quality product

Excellent product, performs as expected
I don't know about everyone's previous experience with these, but this particular model is excellent. Works as expected, durability, ease of use, and a sharp blade that has made over 200 cuts to date and has yet to show signs of wear.

Useful but not perfect
Super easy to use, durable and gets the job done. The only critique I have is that, in comparison to other models, this requires a lot more squeezing effort to bring the blade close enough to cut. Not that squeezing is a problem, the problem lies in the fact that this is brought about because of the “small-to-big” MC adjuster being apparently ineffective. As well as the push button on the side being impossible to keep in. If you’re willing to put in the added hand pressure though, as stated it gets it done and done right.

Doesn’t spin
I’ve had many rotos before from years past this is garbage the mechanics for having the blade spin is just not there might be a faulty tool or what but as an electrician this is frustrating to get a new tool and just have it not work waste of money and time!!!

Makes it easy
Works very easily and makes clean cuts. It's the very definition of a uni-tasker tool, but it's worth having. Maybe the pros don't need it, but it saved me tons of time.

Makes working with flexible conduit much easier.
I wired my garage without one of these and it was a PITA to cut the flexible conduit and deburr the sharp edges, etc. Yes, you can bend and cut the conduit without this thing but this device fixes makes the process much faster and doesn't require any time spent cleaning up sharp edges. The only issue is that you need to grip the conduit pretty hard to get the cut made without the conduit shifting and the gripping mechanism isn't exactly foolproof. That said, I won't use this too much, as I am not a professional electrician, but I'm glad I have it.

Doesn’t strip good
These roto splits don’t even make the cut deep enough to cut MC Cable, they’re useless

Useful and decrease time of work on bx wires
I watched reviews everywhere even on the website of videos (i wont tell the name here to respect the rules) to figure which bx wire was the best for everyday job and this one was at the top. A bit more expensive to its concurence like klein but worth it. Made in USA even if I’m Canadian I’m trying to get best quality for everything. It does well it’s job. Only cons are when you try something to hit the middle to make the cut something you have to make sure that you use the red pin if its a small bx. The other con is you have to turn approximately 7-8 turns to make sure you got the proper cut so you can remove the piece of shielding you don’t need. Despite those 2 cons I highly recommend this item it saves time and make a good cut so the shield cant make cut to the wires.

The package was well sealed and it was easy to screw in the handle
I am one who used the hacksaw technique on BX cable. I didn't even know that the Southwire Tool existed until I ran across it on YouTube. I checked comparisons on various other models and decided to go for their version. I have to admit that at first I was not too convinced but I watched their video on how to use it and now I am a CONVERT! The package was well sealed and it was easy to screw in the handle. The components appear very well made and after only several tries I am now getting clean smooth cuts. It took a few cuts since I had to get used to feeling when the tool actually completed the cut. So far I can only say good things about the Southwire RS-101AC and have no hesitation recommending it to other skeptics!

Doesn’t cut deep enough, scratches the surface
It doesn’t cut deep enough. Less than 2mm. The height adjustment tab does nothing because of the poor precision on the casting.
