The Overstreet Guide To Grading Comics – 2016 Edition [Overstreet, Robert M., Various, Various] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Overstreet Guide To Grading Comics – 2016 Edition Review: Great book, a must have, but I think they could do one thing better - The book is very informative and I think its a must have for collectors. They tackle many topics including the history of grading, definitions, grading non traditional comics, third party graders, restoration, preservation, and more. My only complaint would be this. They have a section of high definition pictures of various comic books in order to help you understand the grading system. For each grade they have several different examples which is great but they only show the front covers. I wish they included a picture of the back cover as well since this is important in the grading process. I have comics where the front and back covers can present different issues and combining the 2 to get a grade is often my challenge. Review: My grading Bible. Anyone selling comics should have this book. Best grading guide out there!!! - Anyone selling comics should have this book. No joke. There are too many phony graders out there that don't know what they are doing or what to call their defects. I was one of them before I got this book. In 3 days of using this book to grade comics, I feel finally like a legitimate grader. This book gave me many technical terms and pictures to show what exactly the defect looks like. I just can't give this book enough credit. After going to my local comic shop 1-2 times a week for grading help (thanks to Time Warp in Boulder, you guys rock!!!), finally I have my grading Bible and can leave them alone to get their work done!

This book is everything!
If you want to know what goes on behind the scenes at those comic grading companies, or why your book got a 9.2 instead of a 9.6, you need this book. Easy to read, lots of actual examples, and plenty of comic book history...it’s a must-have.

Good for learning what to look for
This is a great entry level book until you master the ins/outs of grading with just your eyes.

It's helped me understand the condition my comics are in. More important it helps me buy comics at the right price and I have more confidence in my judgement, and I know when to walk away from a sale or buy it.

Overstreet Guide for Grading Comics
I needed to learn how to grade comics since my return to the hobby. Buying the Overstreet Guide which is the "bible" of grading standards helped me immensely since I am now purchasing comics both at comic book stores and through the internet. You have to know the basics of grading comics to determine whether sellers are under and over charging based on their subjective standards. The book is the best for self-learners.

Overstreet Guide to Grading Comics
Excellent guide packed with information from proper storage techniques to a detailed breakdown of the gen point grading scale. Highly recommended for both new and experienced comic collectors!!!

Over-grading and under-grading happen in equal measure - this books helps on both ends.
The pictures really help one distinguish the differences in mid-grade books, which I believe most collectors have the greatest difficulty in grading accurately. For all the talk about collectors and sellers over-grading books, I believe there is just as much under-grading in the 3.0 to 6.0 area.
