What's there not to love?
What's there not to love; it's the Reliant (XL version) from STII: Wrath of Khan, the best Star Trek movie ever! This is a beautifully modeled ship with details in the right places, more so than the Enterprise-A. The ship is overall shaded in the wrong grey, should be light grey or an off white, but still looks really nice. The aztec paint scheme looks good, but in my opinion, it should be closer to the Enterprise-A aztec paint scheme, should be more pearlescence. That being said, this is a hefty ship, die-cast hull with plastic nacelles and weapons roll bar, and balances well on its stand.Overall, even with the minor complaints that I stated, I really appreciate the work put into it by Eaglemoss and I'm really glad that I made the purchase at a fair price ($77 before taxes). It has always been one of my favorite ships (along with the Enterprise-A, Akira Class, and Klingon Bird of Prey). Definitely a must buy for the enthusiast, collector, or STII fan.

A nice model of your favorite Starfleet ships!
These models are very nice and have a lot of detail. Great for display but they do have one issue that I dislike a lot, and that is the fact that they are not to scale with other models of the same series or XL line. One other thing I do like is that they have no mounting holes, so that would make them perfect for encasing in Acrylic if you really hate the stand they come with.

Decent Sized Replica Accurately Detailed and Nicely Designed.
Of all the XL starships that Eaglemoss has made, this is the best thus far. . . and it is not even my favorite Star Trek ship. You can usually find at least one small blunder that lessens the enjoyment of a particular model. This one has almost none so it looks great with the rest of my models. It is packaged securely in a well designed foam box with the stand and a nicely decorated cardboard box. All of the colors and printing on the model are accurate, crisp and well done. I would like to have seen the light grayish blue sensor band lines that separate levels on the edge of the saucer rim, but it is a minor omission. All the text printing lines up nicely and looks sharp. The tooling details are sharp and fairly accurate and there are no excessively large gaps in the assembly seams. It did notice on the front of one of the nacelles that they forgot to paint black in the indentation for the Brussard collectors. Also, the roundish grilles at the front should be a rust color and not translucent blue. The same with the outside long grilles on the nacelles. They should be black on the outside and blue on the inside, but I like the effect of light coming through. Definitely not a deal breaker. One of the red navigation lights is missing on the underside of the saucer. This can be fixed with a small dot of red paint and no one will be the wiser. The overall color of the model is a light warm gray which contrasts nicely with the silver gray Aztec panels and nicely mimics the real filming model.I have this model sitting on a shelf with my built Enterprise refit model from Polar Lights. The saucer is almost the same size which makes this model 1/1000 in scale. The length is about 8 1/2" as indicated in the description. I have never really liked the clear stand bracket, but it beats having a big hole in the bottom of the model for mounting. The accompanying magazine is nice and we'll done, but I chose to focus my review on the model. This model is a must have for any Star Trek fan of the original movies. Getting an accurate, mass produced, highly detailed replica with few flaws and in this scale for less than a $100, is a real deal. I wish the Refit Enterprise XL was as well done, as I would purchase that model as well. I'm looking forward to the Excelsior XL.

Nice model of the Reliant
While I’m not too impressed by the quality of the regular line of Eaglemoss ships, I’ve found the XL series to be much better. The Reliant is one of my favorite ships, and this model does not disappoint in build and detail.
