I like it, but the negative reviews are correct so read those before deciding
So far this TV tray is what I expected. I like it and am happy I bought it. That being said, some of the other reviews are right. It's not solid like a rock stable, but it is very light and so I wasn't expecting it to be that way. Mine sits flat on the ground and the bar holding the tray does lock into place. Raising it up and down involves pinching to compress both sides of the pins in in the holes in each leg and this may be difficult for an elderly person or someone with physical limitations. This table can be stored flat but that involves partially disassembling it, so I wouldn't say that storing it flat is at all a feature of this item. The cup holder slides in and out under the tray but it is too small for some of our cups and it's flimsy to the point where I'm not sure I'd trust it told hold my drink. I bought this for my son to take out to our porch to do homework on. I needed something light and small so that I can easily move it in and out of the garage/house everyday. I like how it can be raised and lowered or tilted. The tray itself is large enough for textbooks and other school work. The top is not smooth enough for writing on directly, so we need something under the paper to write on. The reason I chose this model with the curved legs rather than a tray with crossed legs is that I thought we'd accidentally kick this one less. So far I'm glad I got this one, but read the negative reviews as well so you can make a good decision based on your individual needs.

Great product!
This is a really good tray table. I mainly use it for my laptop. It holds a decent amount of weight and it can fold down flat if you don't need it. It is a little more wobbly than I expected, especially with 10 lb of computer on it. I think it would benefit from a crossbar, but then you wouldn't be able to put your legs through it. I can't really see a use case for tilting it because it doesn't have any grip or a pronounced enough ledge to hold something in place, but it does have that feature. The cup holder is practically useless. It won't even hold a soda can without it getting stuck. I use it as a micro drawer for my flash drive and earbuds. I bought this because my grandmother has an older one of the same brand in white, hers never had cupholders. I would say it's the same quality. If you're going into this, expecting a full sturdy desk, you're going to be disappointed, but if you need it for eating or a task-oriented project that doesn't require putting a whole lot of weight on it, then you'll do fine. I would recommend putting some felt on the bottom for hardwood because it doesn't slide very well unless it's on carpet.

Decent quality tray table
This is a review of the Table Mate II, just in case Amazon decides to combine all Table Mate reviews in the future. I bought the Table Mate mainly as a place to park my laptop when working at home, watching streaming movies, etc. It doesn't disappoint. The dimensions of the table top compare favorably to old-school table trays that people used to use. You could easily use this as a tray for eating away from the dining room if you wanted to. The top seems to be made of high-impact plastic and is very easy to keep clean. There's a "drink holder" that slides out of the side of the top and is large enough to hold a canned beverage or a cup with a small diameter. It is not large enough for the average coffee cup. The table's legs are made out of metal piping and can be adjusted to different heights. The table can also have its angle adjusted, in case you're using this for drawing. The higher you set the height of the table, the more unsteady it feels. That's just basic physics, folks, because there aren't any struts between the legs to provide extra support. From two notches down, the table feels much steadier. Supposedly it can withstand a weight of 40 pounds but I haven't tried it and wouldn't recommend it because the table clearly isn't designed for bearing a heavy burden. I'm happy with this purchase. The product clearly meets my expectations.

Really nice product!
I really like this table. I am working from home and have a home office upstairs, but I've not been able to go up there due to an injury. I got this table so I could work from my recliner and it is great for that! It sets up quickly and adjusts to a nice height if you are sitting or even if you want to stand and work, this will work unless you are 6' 6"... I've got plenty of room for two laptops, a water bottle, my phone and charger, and still have room left for a small plate of food for a snack or lunch. When I'm done, it collapses easily and I can store it behind the chair or other small area where it is not in the way. I was disappointed that this did not include a cup holder, which would be nice, but not a deal killer. It's a little shaky, not fully stable, but I've loaded it up with stuff and can tell the 50 lb. load limit is about right. So it's not to sit on or pile up with heavy stuff. The only other issue I have is that the base/legs don't fit under my chair. But that's due to the chair having part of the frame almost touching the floor. I'm leaning back in my chair as I'm writing this and there is a gap of about 6 or 7 inches between me and the table edge. So, it's very comfortable to work on my laptop. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase. Great shipping, great packaging, and just what I needed!

Great idea, unfortunately falls short at practically everything
PROS: - Table top is pretty large, larger than my older TV tables - Table legs have no cross bars and are wide enough apart that my legs felt unrestricted in movement - Set up requires no tools, just snap things in place - Changing the slope of the table top is a very convenient feature. The lip around the top is also a nice touch CONS: - Very flimsy and unstable. Legs are fairly loose and will wiggle with practically any touch - Table top becomes unhitched with the slightest upward movement and completely collapses - Collapsed tables (like how you would store them standing up) are extremely unbalanced and will fall over with a slight touch. Note in the ad how the legs are under the couch, giving it more support than free-standing. - Large difference in the weight supported in the back and front of the table (fairly sturdy vs. starts to bend the table top easily) - Switching table top slope is not as smooth as I expected. There are two sets of three hooks that a metal bar will slip into to determine one of the three slopes. Often enough to be annoying, the bar would slip into different hooks on each side, so the table top was crooked. - As others have stated, the cupholder is worthless. It is two pieces rather than one, and the bottom popped out of its holding ring if I lifted my drink too fast. The radius of the cupholder does allow for large drinks, but it was so flimsy that I didn't trust it to hold the weight of a large drink for very long. Overall, this would be a great table with some minor additions for stability. If I had to label this table with my own personal value, I would put it at around $15. Thus, I will be returning the ones I bought and trying out a competitor. With all the stability issues fixed, this would certainly be worth $40.

Great to accommodate Laptop, books, notebook, plate & tumbler
I wasn't too sure if I was going to like the color, Mocha, but when it arrived I was glad the color didn't have a yellow hue. It is more like chocolate milk (med. brown) and blends well with the couch...in fact, a perfect match. It is as wide as one of the seat cushions. The table does wobble a tiny bit when sliding, pressing, or jiggling it, a support bar would solve that problem, but where would you put it to not interfere with your feet or legs. It is sturdy enough for my lap top, food, books, even resting my arms on. I haven't done it yet, but I think I could be perfect to use this outside when I want to enjoy the outdoors while working on the computer, puzzle, etc. I choose this product to solve my need for a computer table while I sit on the couch to give the appearance I am spending more time with the family instead of being isolated in another room. It accommodates my 15" laptop on one side of the tray, on the other side of the tray--a notebook or an 8" plate and drink or both with one behind the other. I like to read a book while eating and it provides ample room for both. The tray gives the appearance of being too big at first, but once my stuff was on it...perfect, exactly what I hoped for. In fact in a pinch, two people sitting to the side with one leg each under the table could eat on it. I set two large plates and settings on each side ...had the room. Sometimes I like to recline on the couch and find that I can slide the table all the way over the couch, slide my legs underneath, using the side end of the table, I have room for the lap top, tumbler, pencils and pens. My notebook, books, snacks sit behind. I was teetering between TableMate II and this XL, glad I went with XL as it fits my needs perfectly. If I was going to use it only as a TV tray to eat on and no other purpose, I would have bought the TableMate II. Overall I am pleased with this tray. If you don't read anything else added on this review, then you will know the product did not fail.

Great for sofa TV watching!
All our life we have eaten at the dining room table. Since its just the wife and me, we decided it would be nice to sit on the sofa to watch TV sometimes. The height is adjustable to a comfortable level. The legs slide under the sofa and you have plenty of room for your legs. The height is adjustable from high to very low for children. We go midway. The tray stays sturdy at what ever height you choose. If you have a meal that needs cut with a steak knife, the table does move a lot. This works better for non cutting foods such as chicken, pizza, or seafood. The color is as it shows in the pictures. It reminds me of hospital trays. But you can choose other colors. For storage, the legs stick out although the tray folds down. We put it behind the sofa. There is a drink holder that slides out. It is sturdy but the base cap sticks to the cans. Overall, for the price, its what you expect. Its a good tray table and we are happy with the two we bought.

Stable enough and fits under my IKEA chair
Found myself working from home a LOT in 2020. The other household members got the primo spots, so converted my living room into my home office. All I need is a stereo, a laptop, and some headphones. Got tired of resting the laptop on my lap, so I picked up this table meant for the bed-ridden and infirm to really capture the look of . Easy to assemble - no tools required, aside from scissors/box-cutter to open the box. Took me < 5 minutes. Fits under my IKEA chair - this is where I sit all day. Was important that the leg width was narrow enough to slide under the chair. This is why I bought the "Table Mate II" sized table. Easy to adjust the angle - 3 angles. You just lift up the desk from one side and it comes unclipped, then clip it into the angle you want. Would have liked to have more angle options, but its fine. Your laptop can slide right off if you are careless, but at the angled level I can rest my elbows on the chair armrests while typing. Easy to adjust the height - First, empty the desk. Push in the clickers, slide the leg up or down, get them to click back. Repeat as often as necessary. Is it wobbly? Sure, its a bit wobbly. But I wanted something light, easy to move around, slide around. If you want something super heavy and sturdy, go buy an actual desk. Easy to put away - unclip the desk, then push the clickers in and turn the legs in 90°, and it will store nicely. drink holder - too flimsy, don't trust it, not gonna use it, and its not why I bought this thing. Super ready for home office 2021!

Overpriced Table Mate
Having paid in excess of £130 for this item I cannot believe the overall product quality. The Table Mate is easy to assemble and use but how this Chinese product warrants it's excessive price tag, I cannot understand. Plastic table top, metal legs and supports make up the product and these contents are not commensurate with its price tag. A disappointing purchase and I hope I will be more circumspect when purchasing something similar.
