Best gig plugs I've tried - for sound quality and volume reduction
Bought on the recommendation of a friend. Used them for a day-long indoor music festival and was very impressed by the sound quality. I wear earplugs for gigs all the time, hoping I can keep going to gigs for at least another decade. I've tried cheap foam plugs but they muffled the sound and I felt detached from the atmosphere. I have generally used the 2 or 3 "coned" plastic plugs which are comfortable, but with some of them I feel like you lose the live atmosphere. The Loops reduced the volume but I didn't feel like I was losing too much of the atmosphere.A nice aspect of the Loops is they are easy to put in and take out of the ear; some of the cones felt like I was sucking my brains out when I removed them.Comfort - felt good, hardly noticed them. Although after 6 hours I did start to wish I could give my ears a rest.Would I take them into the mosh pit? Have yet to try. Certainly found them secure enough for a good dance. Given the cost, and the fact that even foam plugs come loose, I might leave the mosh-pit test for now.Value for money? Some of the cheaper flexible-cone plugs do a nice job, but the Loops are effective, give a nice sound and are easy to use - but you do wonder why they are so expensive. If I lost one of them? OK its my hearing, but I would probably curse, swallow hard, and buy another pair - perhaps after trying out a cheaper set of plugs. The little round storage case is neat, but a canister would be much better. The round case doesn't feel like it will survive being bashed around in a pocket. Opening it while standing in a dark venue does not feel secure as both plugs could easily fall out. I did try them in a screw top canister (15mm wide opening) but the shape of the Loops meant they got stuck. More research required on this aspect.I got the ones with the additional protective rubber ring insert, but have yet to try it as the basic Loop did a good job.I'm always on the look out for good earplugs - but so far these are proving to be impressive.

These are amazing!
I don’t normally write reviews, but these were so amazing, I had to leave a review!I have sound sensitivity. I wore these to go to see Elton John by candlelight. I am so impressed at how well they worked. I took one out during the concert, and the music was so loud! I was sat in the front row. I could still hear everything, just at a much quieter level. I could even hear my friend, who was sat next to me, talking to me clearly during the concert. They are really comfortable to wear. I could hear my own voice, which I don’t mind. It stopped me from overstraining my voice. I love the way they come in different colours!I couldn’t hear the really high notes from the female singer, but that didn’t affect my experience of the concert at all! My ears weren’t ringing after the concert, like they normally would be. I can’t recommend them enough! I was even showing them to everyone I met at the concert!I love my loops so much, that I’m going to order the engage 2 when the colour I like comes back in stock!

Fiddle for the correct fit, but it will never block all noise, not designed to!
Uncomfortable if they aren't in correctly and if there isn't a proper seal they'll be far less effective. Place the earbud in the ear with the loop pointed toward the cheek, then push and twist 180 degrees making a seal and the circle loop bit should twist into your outer ear shell - use the same motion in the opposite direction to safely remove them.Bought these because I'm autistic and have ADHD as well as sensory processing disorder. With my natural hearing, I am able to hear a phone ring in a different classroom to the one I'm in, over two very noisy classes of special needs students (I'd say the only place I could go to that would be noisier would be a gig/concert or the theatre). In short, I tested in a variety of places - the special needs school classroom, at home, on the train, on the bus, walking on the street and out with friends. The loop experience pro does help block annoying humming of machinery and other sounds that distract me - particularly good for public transport where I want to hear just my music, the acoustic channel is brilliant for that so I can see it would be great for musicians and gigs/concert goers. However sometimes it works a tad too well in daily life - conversations are not always easy depending on how the other person communicates, if they're softly spoken, I can hear my breathing better than I can hear them (with loop mute in the loops sealing the acoustic channel - it's only slightly easier with acoustic channel open) and the loops are no good for phone conversations. The pro version comes with loop mute allowing for seal of the acoustic channel and affording 5db extra noise deadening - I find this is good for loud music (I love my Sony noisecancelling headphones up at top whack volume because of the bass vibration and the fact they are best at noisecancelling at full volume) but it will make conversation too hard to pick up on the phone without intense concentration (and in my case as tested whilst at work on a phone call related to work, removal of special school class noise by shutting door after going out into the quieter hall).

One of the best purchases I've even made.
I still use these regularly. I love that you can adjust the level of noise reduction and these have helped me massively in a variety of situations. The different size ear buds allow you to find the most effective nd comfortable fit. These can also be worn for sleep and are still comfortable, even as a side sleeper.
